Gong

Haven't seen a Gong thread and think they well deserve a mention.

I was introduced to Gong maybe 6 months ago & was quite pleased to see they were playing but thought uhmm maybe not for me. Well I'm so pleased that I decided to walk past the Glade to check them for 5 mins before moving on to another sound somewhere. The more I listened the futher into the Tent I went & stayed for the whole show. For me, Gong = Magic moment and an absolutely fantastic festival finale.

Oh and thanks to the lighting engineer beside me who filled some gaps in my knowledge, I hope you read these forums

Missed Gong for Blur (mistake) but saw whole of earlier Steve Hillage Band set with the eFest SH appreciation crew at the front of the stage (you know who you are fella's :) ).

Great sound and visuals - Steve Hillage and rest of band played the old hits brilliantly esp lots of stuff from 'Live Herald' !

Bloody fantastic set - danced like a loon all the way through !

Was taken right back to the 70's - to my hippy youth.

Really, really glad I made that Steve Hillage Band gig - simply one of the best Glasto sets of 2009 for me personally. :):P:( Absolute Classic !

I spotted you on Wednesday night at the cider bus. ( I was sat next to the bar tent with Strudders and Dave) Was just about to come over and say hello when you got up and left. ;)

Was also camped close to CT and called over a few times but you were not around when I was there.

Next year eh?

Yes - saw the Gong set after son got scared at the prodigy set. It was great - my favorite band since 1973!

Saw them at Glasto in 1981 also saw Steve Hillage jamming in the barn at the farm building in 1979!

Hopefully they will be there to represent one of the 40 years of Glasto next year.

:)
