i mean the less heavy non OD able ones, im not saying the drug system is right or anything, ide jus prefer hede be on the wacky backi then the heroin!

and hes definately not a waste of space or waster, i doubt the people calling him this have done aswell qualification wise, are no where near as smart or talented as him,or will ever do what he has in inspire a load of good bands to make music, make people happy with his music, make 4 albums with 2 bands and a solo album whilst being a drug addict. i think all tthat is impressive and positive bar the addict thing.

Why even post something negative on someone anyway, i dont go to forums look at thread about bands i dont like and call the members of the band w*nkers becuase i dont like thier music. Sorry people who dont like his music,im sure your music and albums are much better!.

The fact is he hasn't killed anyone. He is very important to a lot of people out there and has made a massive impact on music. He may be a junkie but to promote and endorse the death of a junkie is pathetic. I'm sure there are people on this forum who have been in similar situations or know people who have. Theres no difference its just his face is always in the media which is something out of his control.

He's only not killed someone down to luck and naff all else. He's been constantly arrested off his face when driving.

His face always being in the media is - or at least was - something very much within his control. It was him personally selling the media many of those pics of him banging up, and many of the stories about him.

there seems to be a lot of cant and hypocrisy around about doherty.

drugs and music are intertwined, dunno why, there's a million factors for it, some direct, soem indirect. You don't like musicians doing drugs? like bIll hicks said, you'd better take all of your favourite albums, all the albums you love and throw them away, cos al the musicians who made them? off their tits.

The lad's got problems and driving under the influence is a twatty thing to do, no question, but again, take your favourite musicians and tell me they didn't do equally appalling things? from led zeppeln's child abuse to shaun ryders crack habits, time gives them the appearance of respectability and lets this behaviour turn into fluffy, safe anecdotes.

yeah, cheer for him to be nicked and arrested, but don't forget to do the same next time you go and see your favorite band, cos there's nobody pure as the driven snow on those stages/in your music collection.

The fact of the matter is he deserved to be in prison ages ago.

Just because it is common in the music industry, doesn't make it acceptable.

Even if drug use does improve albums (highly doubt it myself) it is not worth the risk when he is obviously a danger to himself and others.

exactly what I mean about the hypocrisy

"I don't like Dohery, therefore his drug use is unacceptable

I do like <insert name of favourite band> therefore their drug use is acceptable/the stuff of legend"
