Already mentioned them in another thread, but for the love of God, do whatever it takes to get to British Sea Power at Avalon on Friday. Killer band, and so, so good live.

slow club, the virgins, marina and the diamonds, vagabond

the line up in the queens head is looking briliant this year, i'd check out whoever is playing in there if you happen to be stumbling past, there's loads of amazing up and coming bands playing

My 3 top picks are

Lamb - On the jazz world stage (not sure which day sorry) just got back together after a 4-5 year break up. They make some of the most beautiful music and nearly made me cry in 2004

Beardyman - Amazing human beat box and so so much more, incredible and really funny performer. You can catch him on Thursday in the dance village and he is doing another set at the glade with the bays (who are an awesome as well).

High Contrast - Drum and Bass Dj with soul and melody that will make you smile (on at the dance village)

I'd have to say "Whimwise" on The Tadpole Stage in The Green Futures Field on Friday at 6-00 pm are definitely worth a visit.

Check them out for something totally unique.

If you miss that, then they're also doing The Mandala Stage at 6-00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
