just saw a story, looks like hes back on the drugs after being found in aeroplane toilet with needle and been charged, so you think this will possibly rule out an apperence at festival?

i don't think he ever got off the persians did he? if getting caught affects the conditions imposed upon by the court last time (if they still apply), then there's a possibility he could be sent back inside i suppose.

he's one of the finest songwriters of the generation, so many people jus hate him based on the shit they hear in the media. wish he'd do it for the fans tho. saw him live few months bac and was absolutely brilliant, stayed past the curfew, flouted the smoking ban forfeiting his fee and put on a genuinely brilliant show. deny that the libertines produced some of the best live songs of the past few years. Babyshambles' first was a bit sketch but still had some great songs-f**k forever, kilamangiro. shotters' nation was critically acclaimed and a great listen. and his most recent solo output is a good album with some really original ideas on it

I agree with you mate. I think his lyrics are tremendous. He's miles and miles better than most of the bands around these days.

I also admire his "f**k you" attitude to life. He is a rock star behaving in a rock star manner. Drugs, shagging super models. He is living the dream. I think most peoples dislike for him is pure envy.

drugs and music have gone hand in hand for hundreds of years. Most of the classical geniuses were on opium.

I dont know why pete doherty gets singled out for his drug usage. The beatles used heroin! You dont often hear people bitching about that. The excesses of the likes of Jim Morrison, The who, led zep, the stones etc etc etc are spoken off fondly. Why is pete doherty the bad guy? It's all very odd.

Nick Cave was a massive heroin user, I dont see anyone criticising him about it
