Posthumous Performance - Who?

So, who would you love to be able to see give a posthumous performance at Glastonbury from their pomp?

For me, many, many come to mind but I would love to have seen Nina Simone belt out Sinnerman to 100,000 plus; imagine that. 10 minutes of pure genius on the Pyramid stage. Yep, thats the one for me.

How about you guys, who and which track?

Jimi or Jefferson Airplane when Grace Slick still sang with them (I know she's still alive but not performing any more so does that count?)

I'd go for Joe Strummer and then half way through he would be joined by the Clash.

Or Bob Marley and the Wailers. That would be amazing.

Without a shadow of a doubt it would be Bob Marley and the Wailers. I am still incredibly angry I'll never be able to see him.

But all the obvious ones really Jimi Hendrix, James Brown I would LOVE (I can't believe I never saw him). If we're allowed bands it would be Clash, Beatles, Love, SUBLIME.

Damn it I wish I was born 40 years earlier. I'm so jealous of my mum.

George Harrison, IMO the greatest Beatle of them all. Mr Eavis has said that one of his biggest Glastonbury regrets was not following up Georges desire to play the festival, just before he died.

Just imagine being played the likes of:

Taxman

Here comes the sun

Something

I me mine

My Sweet Lord

Got my mind set on you

While my guitar gently weeps

Etc etc etc :)

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
    • Maybe Starmer's legacy will be a war with Russia.
    • How were GnR? Seen some videos and pictures and let's just say, the crowd to the sides at the front and in front of the sound tents were let's just say... Sparse compared to LB.
