Role Model
Please please please let it be Offspring on the Reading Friday. Would love to see The National, Animal Collective and No Age too.
wilko8
This was on the official Leeds Festival site news page: "Sun, 05 Apr 2009 special NME/R1 stage announcement A week on from tickets go on sale we have announced three headliners, and 25 other names. Get ready for a very special announcement for the NME/Radio1 stage tomorrow..." Looks like we're getting a big announcement. Not sure if those 3 headliners & 25 other names include the ones previously announced. Was meant to be 11am this morning, but has been pushed back for whatever reason. guyfawkes
Is it just me or have they taken the announcement info off the offical site now?

The_Functions
No Age, Deerhunter, Jay Reatard, Barn Owl, Vivian Girls, Times New Viking and of course Black Lips. Out of them, Black Lips, Deerhunter and Barn Owl would warrant a ticket purrrrchaaase. Still itching for Modest Mouse but every year i get let down. Atleast they've pulled Deftones for 09 though... mattyp
TV On the Radio would be nice, as well as Doves and the National. Would also like to see Mystery Jets and the Kills added too as they were preety special last year!
robsadler
i'm really hoping weezer and the get up kids (back together again!!!!!!) play. despite what people have said i couldn't see weezer on the nme stage. they're more likely to be headlining the lock up stage or be on the main stage surely? personally i would also like to (realistically) see........ 1990s, dogs, tv on the radio, death cab for cutie, ocean colour scene, soulwax (and 2 many dj's). robx
wheres the mudfight
I'd love to see the libertines reformed and headlining the NME tent. That would definately make my Reading. can't see it though.
RaymondM
I am going to guess that Lostprophets and The Cure are added as headliners to the Radio 1/NME Tent.

Rhyscot
So when is this announcement, tonight ? and where will i see it /hear it ? Radio 1, or just the website ?
moz4pm
judging by the 'special headliner' talk i cant see it being anyone other than the cure, they are the only ones out of the rumours that warrant that kind of talk
jammy2211
Does anyone actually think calling a band Special means anything at this festival. Bare in mind, Plain White T's were last years Special Guests.
wheres the mudfight
They'd headline the main stage.

cavey
Are we sure this is happening? Only nme usually teases lineup announcements beforehand. Can't see them just announcing a load of names without advertising it.
RapidAmp
Well the Official Reading and Leeds Twitter said it would be announced tonight but I suppose you could be right
somecoolusername
So.... no announcement. Is anyone else just a little f**ked off? First it would be 11 this morning, then 7 this evening and the only reason it hasn't been announced is because NME want to sell more of their shitty little rags. Well I won't be buying one. We've all paid for our tickets ffs. Just announce it or don't say it's going to be announced at all.
mrf1shie
Well if it is tonight, it's late. But that can be expected from fr's ever so crappy website team. When I say team I wouldn't be suprised if it was one guy who forgot about the update and just went on a tea break. Bradders
If you change the article number from the last one, (Oasis) 43910 to 43911 it says festival news, but no article yet. So it looks like it's coming. Example: http://www.nme.com/news/nme/43911 Edited April 6, 2009 by Bradders
cavey
good spot. strange that they haven't made a big deal out of an "exclusive lineup announcement courtesy of the amazing NME"
