In what can be described only as the best news of the year so far, the Pixies have announced plans to tour in 2009. The first announced date is for June 14th at the Isle of Wight Festival in what is being advertisedas their only UK festival date this year.

And let's not forget that they have NY as a UK festival exclusive!

I paniced in 2004 when the chilis appeared in NME appearing at the Parc du Princ in paris and booked a package for 4 of us. i thought i would not get time off work for their dates i uk so basically talked everyone into coming to paris to see them. Little did i know that they would play Cardiff, my home town, the following week (which thanjk lucifer we all got tickets for) anyway, the pixies supported the chilis on this tour and were out of this world. kim deal rocked and black francis did his thing accompanied by the drummer throwing a drumstick at the bass and then him playing his chords with above device, never ever seen anything like it before!!!!!!!!! <_<

Is it just me? Did I imagine posting more on this thread and having nice chats with folk? Or have they been removed?

Actually yeah, Other Stage headliner would be brilliant!

Out of the "big six", they've done V, Reading and Leeds, TITP and will be doing IOW this year so that leaves them with Glasto and Download to tick off. Doubt they'll ever do Download (although never say never...) so they should come to Pilton and bust out a bit of Here Comes Your Man! :)

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
