Festival organiser Michael Eavis revealed to Q that he secured Springsteen, a long-time Glastonbury target, after sending him a handwritten letter. “It was one of my most passionate [letters],” he said in the new edition of Q, which goes on sale tomorrow.

“My daughter Emily liked it so much she asked me to rewrite it and have it framed for her. I think [springsteen’s appearance] will be one of the biggest festival moments of all time.”

Taken, as you may have guessed, from the Q website...

He's so bloody great his daughter is asking him to frame his own words. Stinks of arrogance.

And you'll get to listen to Springsteen as a result of his letter. Musical choice improved. One of the biggest headliners hes ever got, so hes framing it.

Problem is what exactly....???

Well done Michael, a great signing for you, only topped by The Nals attendance at Glasto 09. :P

Woah hold on, in this case benisWRONG.

I have never once said Bruce doesn't deserve to be headlining, I have critisized the lack of a younger headliner in the past, but of late I have been saying I will be going to see Bruce.

So don't put words into my mouth thank you please :)

And I shall do some good ole Michael Eavis research now, so that i'm nicer, on the muels advice :P

Given the acts that he's pulled to Glasto over the years, this must be a special letter to make it on to the walls between the Diary Board Certificate of Hygiene and the CND poster! I think it's great that a personal letter from ME got Bruce involved - presumably usually it's just corporate promoters sending Outlook invites or similar. Also I agree: Sam, why all the ME hate? Isn't it your first Glasto this year? Save it for afterwards (if a week of the Pilton Parallel Universe doesn't change the way you think)..

:P
