Glasto Virgin here im really looking forward to going to glastonbury for the first time this year, doing it solo which will also be a first. kinda scary. but anyway i see the site opens on wednesday. Is it worth getting there on wednesday for a good spot etc or wait til thursday? is their stuff going on wednesday and thursday??

yes, and I went on my own last year, triangle is good for making friends, deffo go wednesday aswell - without FAIL !

I didn't camp at the triangle last year but visited a few times and had a great laugh! I will be camping there this year tho!

Can you arrive on Wednesday night? How difficult is it to see your way and set everything up? I'm thinking of getting there around 9 PM possibly.

shouldn't be too bad, there's lighting along all the pathways that lights up the campsites a bit.

i've arrived at 11pm on the thursday before & got set up all right.

We had to arrive after midnight a couple of years ago, all head torches and so on, anyway, no need, there is plenty of light around and it was a really amazing time to arrive for my wifes first time at Glasto. The party was in full swing

Thanks for the responses to my query. So I assume that even though perhaps some of the better locations might be taken by the time I arrive Wednesday night, there's still going to be a great deal of space to choose from.

Wednesday all the way!!!!

This is only my 2nd Glasto but i would`nt ever even consider going later than Wednesday. I want to escape the world and all the shite as quick as possible please.

Once your behind the Glasto super fence all the crap vanishes for 5 whole days, all that matters is music, bucketloads of good times, friends, cider and last but not least............ SUNSHINE!!!

I've always arrived on a Thursday nightish & each time it has been chocka to find a decent spec.

This year though i plan to set off @ stupid o clock on a Wednesday morning & arrive on site around noon (at least that's the plan ).

Always always always arrive as early as is physically possible . When you arrive you will realise why. As far as I could tell last year there was lots of space on the Wednesday night, but when I stood up on the Thursday I could see a lot less...

I might arrive a couple of hours after opening this year, got stuck in a horrendous queue last year. Want to give the gates chance to sort themselves out. Can't stand queueing TBH. I prefer coming to the east side and Blue Route, don't want to get stuck in the farce of PGB queue as last year. A couple of hours later the carpark fields are in use near PGC, rather than PGB.
