Metcheck is clearly predicting a scorcher! Fantastic yes but also risky - take a high factor (30 plus) sunblock and stick it on first thing in the morning or you could easily find your weekend in ruins guys - any exposed skin needs this .Remember that dehydration can make you seriously ill so drink BIG quantities of water along with your cider. A big hat with a decent brim will help. Take some time out of the sun during early to mid-afternoon - you can make an exception when the Quo are on! Don't get sunstroke, don't get dried out and don't forget to boogie! Remember, you are more at risk in a scorcher than in a washout so use some sense and have a great time.

In the morning all the storms will have f**ked off North, GMTV will be saying Glasto's gonna be really hot and I'll end up with a bigger hard-on than JACKONE gave me.

Off to work for the last day and mid way through, some bastard will post a graphic of some squiggles and I'll have the hump again.

Then Anguin, JACKONE, WoW, Steve Murr et al will post one big joint message to say that everything it's gonna be f**king lovely all weekend. See you down the front!

This is the weirdest, yet most agreeable build up to any Glastonbury I have ever experienced.

This is essentially exactly the same forecast we had before the 2005 festival.

Thundery showers were predicted for Thursday night/Friday.

Lets hope we don't get the mother of all thunderstorms again!

I dont think anyone has anything to worry about as it will be amazing.

We had virtually the same forecasts leading up to last year as we are getting now and last year was nice.

Dont forget, it rained for quite a while on Thursday night last year (about 3 hours iirc) and the ground was still fine.

In fact, I am so confident of nice weather, I am not taking wellies (crosses fingers).

I was there in the flash flood of 2005 and the never ending rain-mud quagmire of 2007. Still had a wicked time, and this may sound odd, but as the rain never went away, you just kinda got used to it! OK, i didn't sit down for 5 days and was caked, but everyone was in the same 'boat'. Advice: Drink through it!

ah come on guys, get that positive vibe back! from my point of view it's looking a lot nicer than both 2005 and 2007 put together (*shudder*) so let's drink to that! and the temperatures are looking lovely, so even when it's drizzling it'll be like a nice warm sprinkling. far better than it's been for me at any festival at least. and if the temperatures are going to be that high you don't want endless sun, it's a nightmare at benicassim! of course, i wouldn't turn it down at this stage though

Last year it drizzled most of Thursday and Friday, by Friday lunchtime wellies were needed. The rain stopped when I was watching the Ting Tings and the ground was dry by the time I got back to my tent at 7am on Saturday morning...Oh what a night!

2005 and THAT thunderstorm was not a great weather year but by the Sunday the ground was dry, the downside was then all the churned up, dry mud which made sitting comfortably a tad difficult.

2007 was possibly the worst experience of my entire festival going life. I was camped in the wrong place, the mud was all in my tent, I lost my wellies in sinking mud, my beer got nicked (what a wicked thing to do on a muddy year! grr) 2 drunks fell on my tent due to drink and getting sucked down knee deep in the mud and when they fell they squashed me, also breaking my tent and then I discovered I was allergic to Chilli, anaphylactic shock was not a good thing to come down with whilst up to my neck in mud. God bless the medical crew!

This year will be a breeze compared to 2007. It will rain, then dry up, rain, then dry up, rain, then dry up. It will be so hot the rain will be welcome and then we can all watch the mist come off each others clothes due to heat on damp and then complain that everyone smells of old dog.

If memory serves me correctly then this will be akin to 2003? Rain, then heat.

but at the end of the day....

ill be wearing a poncho...waterproof trousers and wellies

even if a bit sticky....f**k it....means i dont have to bring as many clothes...just more alcohol

upside of it being cloudy is that night time temperatures wont be freezing plus sunburn wont be an issue.
