My view, for what its worth.

Looks like some of the more pessimistic models on here look like they are matching up with Metcheck and the MO long range - a North west / South East divide.

Provided that low stays to the North. Fingers crossed.

C'mon the Azores high, push that weather front to Scotland.

latest metcheck has changed to show heavy rain on thursday night into friday morning, glorious apart from that though.

WOW, here in the North West the sky is dark grey, the thunder cracks are extremely loud, lightening is flashing everywhere, the rain is pelting down and is mixed with fairly large hailstone.

2 house alarms are going off and everything has gone mad - WOW what is going on... is this the end of the world?

Maybe the gods on high are angry that ITV2 didnt show any Neil Young last night!

Worth remembering that the GFS models. on which Metcheck bases it's computer generated (and ever altering!) 'forecasts', often has a tendency to be somewhat more pessimistic than the European and Met Office models.

Latest Met Office update from 11:35 Monday, is a good deal better than the latest Metcheck update from 13:19 Monday. And even the Metcheck forecast, which I expect will change a fair few times between now and next week anyway, is overall positive except for Thursday night/Friday morning. It might even be that they're oveplaying any risk of rain anyway, they've been known to. Hopefully a transient feature.

The BBC update to its 4 week forecast, from today (Monday 15th) , based on Met Office data but I think interpreted by the BBC's own people (?) is also still positive overall.

The one to watch will be this evening's update from JACKONE, he synthisises the different models and therefore presents a range of outcomes based on all the output.

My fervent hope is that the small amount of r**n included in the 12z GFS run and linked update to the Metcheck forecast will be ironed out.

Overall, the South West still looks set to be dominated, or at least strongly influenced, by High Pressure ... we can only pray that this hangs on over the whole period.

Sreve Murr will be back before long I think as well, his forecast from yesterday was truly great, so big thanks to him as well as to JACKONE. I hope both of em are able to confirm current positive trends.
