as far as i can tell, Bat For Lashes, Editors and Doves were not in any of the official announcements on the site. forum moderator over on the Latitude forums stated that they have not been announced by latitude.

those names came from our man at the press conference ..... we've yet to speak to him, but he'll have been given those names via the announcement.

if that is the case, just strikes me as a little odd that Latitude wouldnt want to announce that themselves on their website. rather than leave the forums in a state of chaos.

Stopp rubbing in your happiness

Ooops - I didn't realise when I clicked on line up that it was still showing last year's   (should read the thread ;) )

But hey, I'm still excited, probably be more interested in the smaller bands anyway

.....and the comedy...... :)

Interesting reading all this having not read anything about Latitude in the run-up to ticket day, going online at 6.50pm and waltzing in to get a ticket.

I'm not too fussed about the headliners anyway - as it will be my first Latitude I will be more interested in exploring and seeing interesting new stuff - and I'm sure there will be the odd few decent sized names to draw my interest.

In answer to the question what other festival would put tickets on sale with minimal information about line-ups, I have only one word.... Glastonbury.

These days, with so many festivals vying for your attention, and with so many bands playing so many of those festivals, I tend to go by *what* the festival has to offer rather than *who* and I've read and heard good things about the whole Latitude experience from people whose opinions I respect. So I'm sure it will be great whoever is playing - personally I'm not arsed about Jones or PSB (or even about the other acts mentioned on this thread as being allegedly confirmed) but would probably give Nick Cave a look.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
