we dont know yet what theyve don eto the site

the 1 big complaint that constantly came through from last year was that none of the tents were big enough

true. makes this evenings event all the more intriguing.

im kinda hoping they're gonna pull something out the bag, like announce Daft Punk are headlining or something.

Hmmm, this is an interesting development...

I for one think the 3 supposed headliners were actually quite good, very interesting and better than most of the recycled acts from the last few years other festivals seem to be putting on.

On the official forum they have said ticket prices have gone up by £20 to keep the festival capacity (no increase) perhaps this has something to do with making the tent much bigger or making it a second stage or something. Never been to latitude so this is just complete guesswork, would explain such a big increase in price?

I would still find it very strange if Uncut made such a mistake but i suppose it is possible, guess all it takes is somone to accidently e-mail the wrong info to them.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the line-up actually looks like this;

NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS

BAT FOR LASHES

DOVES

EDITORS

PET SHOP BOYS

GRACE JONES

looking a bit more likely yeah. now we just need someone like Beirut or Bonnie Prince Billy to fill the Joanna Newsom slot from last year :rolleyes:

i think thos uncut headliners are exactly that, the uncut headliners - no way can doves/editors be below grace jones

Anyone who knows anything about Grace Jones will know that she refuses to play second fiddle to anyone else.

Nick Cave, Grace Jones and Pet Shop Boys are the headliners and perfectly good ones at that if you ask me.

gonna say, doves and editors are bigger than grace jones.

actually punched my fist in the air when i saw this, don't know why as i've seen all 3 before and i', not HUGE fan, but chuffed with editors, hopefully new album will be done(ish) by then.

Also, for those interested, this is the order of most listened on last.fm;

(most) Editors, Doves, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Pet Shop Boys, Bat for Lashes, Grace Jones (least)

Have Doves not got a new Album due out ?

Heard a track on Adam and Joe last week, which was v good.

yep, out april 14th i think - the industry buzz is that its their strongest yet and that they are band most likely to 'do an elbow' this year.

2nd headliners will do me just fine, i can go and do something good while the dross that is grace jones and PSB are on

"Anyone who knows anything about Grace Jones will know that she refuses to play second fiddle to anyone else."

then how come she was 4th on the lineup at Bestival last year.....below Amy Winehouse, Hot Chip and The Human League???????

Just to add my two pence worth. Bloc Party, Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, Friendly Fires and Royksopp have all got breaks in their schedules over this weekend. I think most of those would fit the mood on the main stage. Maybe FF and Bon Iver in Uncut tent, but I'd put money on a couple of these being there.

Don't know why we're even worrying about it, I only liked 3 bands prior to going last year and it was by far the best festival I've ever been to.

Saying all that though... Grace Jones. Terrible terrible decision...

sensational line up so far!

So it looks like headliners are still to be announced? has anyone got a firm idea about flaming lips, or is it based on hope rather than fact?

    • Kronenberg in a tent as well IIRC but Brooklyn Pilsner was easier to get without queueing and was everywhere across the festival.
    • I think they'll end up doing something due to pressure and bad PR. Maybe they do a discount code for next year or bar credit or something along those lines.    I agree though. I acknowledge that the lineup is huge but surely you can't cancel 33% of the headliners and not reimburse in some way. Their insurance will probably cover their fees for MA, Doja, Bad Gyal and Mac DeMarco due to force majeure.
    • Looks like nothing for weekend ticket holders. You'd expect a goodwill gesture.
    • Enough has been covered about how much of a sh*t show that was, so I'll just say, Massive Attack and it's relationship with this festival (and potentially me) are f**king cursed.    They were announced in 2020 when I first got excited about seeing them. They were subsequently on the poster for 21, 22 and now 26. This time I was in actually in the crowd close to the stage waiting for them twice haha. I give up!
    • Thanks for the suggestion, had never heard of them yesterday and have picked up a ticket today.
