My housemate rented Mamma Mia yesterday. I think we're gonna have to confiscate her membership card. For her own, but more imortantly, our, good. Even the joy of hearing Pierce Brosnan "sing" isn't enough to save this awful, awful film

its not about the "sport", its about a man who took part in that "sport" ( i cant stand pro-wrestling either), and it has amazing perfomances from the actors, especially Mickey Rourke, and it seems to be popping up on a lot of reviewers films of the year lists, including some of my favourite reviewers so i see quite a lot of point in watching it, if it ever makes it to my local cinema...

I'm not really a fan of boxing, should i not have bothered watching Raging Bull

I heard the plot of 7 Pounds and it sounds proper shit, and was slated to bits by American critics as being terrible. I like this quote about it - "... may be among the most transcendently, eye-poppingly, call-your-friend-ranting-in-the-middle-of-the-night-just-to-go-over-it-one-more-time crazily awful motion pictures ever made.".

I might consider going to see Frost/Nixon to see if its any good, they've supposedly took all sorts of liberties with the truth however.

No. Eddie Vedder wrote them. Pearl Jam had nothing to do with it. Plus there's a cover of Big Hard Sun too, which is a highlight. It was originally done by Indio (aka Gordon Peterson) who evokes spiritualism and rythmic elements from traditional native indian music. This is his version...............
