Was Team America over-hyped? What hype was there? I remember there being zero about it when I went to see it in the cinema. Any hype that came about must have simply been word-of-mouth.

It was a good film though, you have to admit.

Where the hell are Trey Parker and Matt Stone when you need them? I haven't pissed myself at a comedy movie since Team America. There have been some decent comedies, but I'm still waiting for the next Team America that'll just make me laugh from beginning to end.

It's OK to dislike something. Horses for courses. Maybe try and ease your frustration over a lack of funny films by doing something about it. I mean, Hitler wasn't fond of Jews, so he went and did something about it, if you think along those lines you may find your answer.

I'm the same but with Pulp Fiction.

Though in indy terms, I found I Heart Huckabees insetuously funny and sommik-or-other Jesus the same, but in regard to a different film.

Comedies that are labelled comedies are shit.

Team America was canny funny and done well. But it was fairly obvious and predictable. Knew what was coming, but it still amused. Not exactly Bill Hicks.

sorry cultyworm...what does insetuously mean? occasionally you'll use a word I don't know, so I'll google to find out it's meaning/definition;.....unfortunately insetuously only returns one result in google (for a bebo comment)....so following the assumption it's a real word (I know you enjoy being creative) but what does it mean?...and if made up, what's the point when we're not going to be about to interpret it...at least purposively?

Something that sets out to amuse in it's entirity. Something labelled a comedy. As if your being told that this will make you laugh - it's its entire purpose. Comedy for comedies ske. I want to follow something and be struck by absurdity or wit or satire or whatever. If it's framed, it'll be safe. Humorous things are never safe.

    • Happy with the name, unhappy with what it did to the lineup. Now I have to choose between Florence Road and Beirut 😞 and still no alternative to 21p.
    • Odd and rare for RW indeed! I even remember reading in the past that one of the reasons for certain bands not appearing there, were similar demands being rejected. It’s weird that they play after Gorillaz and even more weird that there won’t be an alternative. All they had to do was push Pixies to later.
    • Klymaxx (The classic lineup) are rumoured to be back together and planning shows.    100k at this. Pyramid field shut down from the bandstand
    • Self Esteem on TfG for the new BA venue in London next week   Also McFly at the Piece Hall, and several for Llangollen summer sessions.   I think is starting to show the new unused inventory platform starting to kick in. Could be be seeing a lot more last minute stuff from now on.
    • I wonder if a market might open up for academy bands to start playing one off arena shows with prices in the £40-50 range. The biggest arena artists must be pricing out a fair few punters and smaller sized acts could fill a void giving people an arena experience at a price that doesn't make you actually wince.
