Its only impressive if it actually achieves anything - if not, whats gonna happen to it - my guess the scientists will start putting random objects i.e apples, chairs, cats into it to see what happens, filming it, and sticking it on youtube.

Because there is nothing in our current understanding that gives objects mass and they think this bosun might hold the key. Finding out why we have mass seems a legitimate pursuit to me

But anyway, with this idea that a proton can be in two places at once is the possibility that it's not really that but smaller sub-particules that we've not clocked yet. It gives an alternative scenario which stands up .... to the little I know anyway.

nope. All that's required is the removal of the 'space' that exists in every atom - every atom has a huge amount of 'space' and only the tiniest bit of mass.
