SOS Masterticket - HELP!

Hi all

I was just wondering if anyone has ever purchased and more importantly RECEIVED any tickets from a company called SOS Masterticket? a friend of mine purchased a ticket for next weekends V Festival from them and since we've heard nothing but bad comments of false dates for non exisiting concerts/over charging/no show on tickets. just really panicing now that this is a hoax site and she's been ripped off. they claim they specialise in sold out events however the cost of the tickets are cheaper than those on ebay. shes been ringing them to see when she would receive her ticket and was promised it would be by next wednesday (we all have ours as of yesterday from ticketmaster) and late last night got an email to say sadly they cant get the tickets out and now she has to ring a mobile number for some guy and meet him Friday for the ticket actually at V!! the company has a London landline number and an office in Spain! the email we got says July (concert is August)which they claim is a typo (says it twice!!) and according to many horror stories on the net others have had the same problems. I just think it all sounds so dodgy - how can these hundreds of people ring this one guys number n meet him the Friday morning?? they cant really can they?!! The more i read what im writing the more i think its a fix - all internet stories are from people in a similar situation to me and i cant find any that say people have/haven't ever got tickets! We've rang both the office and the mobile number and they have tried fobbing us off but now the office arent answering and the guy on the mobile became very hostile and was swearing n abusive saying speak to the office!! Anyone out there who's bought tickets n its been ok/hasnt please can you let me know ASAP? obviously she isnt prepared to drive 4 hours down there to find she has to go back home!!

Thanks all

Catherine xx

Hi catherine, my wife also purchaced tickets from this company and we are in the same position as you. I think that the only option we have is to go to the festival and contact the agent as instructed. If it is a scam and nobody replies then take your proof of purchace to a festival official or police officer to get an official witnesss to validate your attendance and effort to recieve the ticket. This way you will have reasonable proof that you showed up to collect and should be able to claim you money back plus travel expenses from sos masterticket or your credit card company.

Were going to Hylands park on the Saturday and if you or anyone else is and would like to meet up at Hylands park if no tickets arrive send me a PM and I'll give you my mobile number, we can then exchange details which also helps in any claim by having names of other people that have been defrauded.

Hope this helps

Hi all,

we are in the same predicament and I am really worried we are not going to get the tickets !!!! we have been asked to meet the man on saturday morning- we have day tickets - I just wish there was some way of knowing whether this was going to happen - we are travelling by taxi and don't know if we will be able to get home , don't think the taxi will wait for us ! Would there be any way somebody could post on here if they have succesfully got their tickets on friday ??? I know it's a long shot ....... will be sooooooo gutted if we can't go :D

In my opinion you will be very lucky to get tickets.

The price they have sold them at, the amount they clearly spent on sponsored advertising (to be top of every sponsored search, and bearing in mind they sold the tickets at £177.50 - much less than other similar sites and for those who don't know those sponsored searches are *VERY* expensive) and the amount of people querying ticket purchases on this and other forums,l eads me to believe that they have sold hundreds and hundreds of tickets. If they had purchased those tickets they would now have received them. I think it would be fair to assume that they are simply now trying to buy back as many tickets as they can, at £177.50 that they sold tickets for Chelmsford for they will be very lucky to get any back as they are going for more than this on ebay.

I just do not think that it is feasible for them to buy up literally hundreds of tickets to have on Friday and Saturday to hand out to purchasers, maybe if we were talking about a handful left over that hadn't been received by them then fair enough but imo, from the ridiculous amount of threads and queries on them, they have sold hundreds and hundreds of them and it doesn't look like they have sent any of those out.

Hi all,

my friend who bought the tickets has just spoken to them at SOS and we have arranged to pick them up from V on Friday night .... our tickets are day tickets for Saturday, but we don't live too far away so not too far to drive for us - if we have any probs getting them then I will make sure to post on here so that anyone else can be alerted and maybe not make a wasted journey on Saturday . Good luck everyone :D

Hi everyone, had to let you know about my experience with these guys. After about 5 phone calls over the weeks, with promises that the tickets would come, each time I called back to be told they would be there aty a later date, finally being told I would have them by tomorrow, I called again today to chase them and was told they haven't got the tickets! I too was told that I could meet someone at the gate who would give me my ticket. or could send a fax to them to get a refund. After weeks of messing about and being lied to, I have no reason to believe that they will stand by their word this time, and have sent a fax to them requesting a full and immediate refund. My credit card company said they will refund me if SOS don't.

The woman I spoke to today was incredibly rude and hung up on me. I didn't shout or swear (although I really wanted to!) but they're obviously very used to complaint calls, as very early in the conversation she said she would terminate the call if i didn't shut up basically! She wouldn't put me through to a supervisor/manager as they were all too busy: I wonder why....! Good luck to anyone who has dealt with them, I've definitely learnt my lesson. I've been on the V website and checked out their approved ticket companies and fingers crossed, have tracked down some valid tickets for this weekend.

Good luck to you, Tess x

Everyone im in the same boat as you lot but i think everyone should just chill.

No one has any proof about this company is bad and tbh. i feel really confident about these people as ive read a post about a guy who was in the same situation for T in the park. He said he arrived there with the Sosmasterticket representative waiting there with everyones tickets and they went in fine. Untill im proven wrong on friday morning when i go to pick my tickets up i remain to be on there side and actually be possitive in this situation. !

Saw this scam on Watchdog a while ago, they actually got a reporter to buy tickets for a sporting event (Rugby I think?). They got told to ring someone, they checked the number in advance & it worked. On the day they got fobbed off a couple of times & then the phone was turned off. It's a simple enough scam, you just get a free prepay sim from the O2 site, tell peeps the bloke's name is John Smith or whatever alias you're using that day. The bloke expects a load of calls to which he placates the 'customers' then chucks said sim away when it's too late.

The way these companies work is to sell the tickets before they've actually bought them themselves as a secondary source. Their aim is to get everyone tickets that they have sold to, but if they can't buy enough, they will offer a refund in place of a ticket. Some of these companies will follow through and provide this refund, others, especially if they have got big losses will just wind up the company and restart a new one to do the same. A common factor in all of these agencies that I've heard of is a main office in a foreign company where trading standards can't touch them. Often this appears to be in Spain. Any London address is usually a PO box. My advice would be to get to the RV point very early to pick up your ticket in case they haven't got enough. This might just be wishful thinking though as I can't imagine the dude saying "All gone" midway through a snake of a queue...

Good luck guys...

Maybe a slight ray of hope - I went to the Isle of Wight festy this summer and got my tickets off Ticketzone - thorugh the BT release. They couldn't get tickets out in time so we had to pick them up from a portakabin on site. When I got there it was quite difficult to find as a lot of stewards knew nothing about it. I had to lug my stuff half a mile somewhere else before I found it. Maybe this number you have to call is to avoid problems like this as they might not know exactly where they can set up a base to distribute these tickets from. Good luck.

It could work out ok. There are just so many ticket sites, it's impossible to tell which ones are genuine and which aren't.

I bought tickets to Reading a couple of years ago from a site called 'Ticket Tout' - looking back, i see how badly wrong it could have gone!

Anyway, i got an email giving me a mobile number and saying that i had to meet a guy there in the morning. Sure enough, he was there and we got our tickets. He had a big wad of tickets and just gave us ours - when we walked away, we realised that we actually had 3 tickets instead of 2! So we sold the third ticket for face value and it made our tickets regular priced!

On the other hand, i have bought tickets from ebay for Reading almost a year in advance, paid by cheque. Never got the tickets and i didn't have his information and ebay couldn't help.

The moral of the story - buy tickets direct from V when they are released!

Lets hope that they come good, I like others on here (although a minority) am an optomist.

If anyone of the above in the same boat would like to meet up on Friday should it all go pear shaped then pm me your name and mobile number and ill reply with mine. Will be there from 11ish.

We are 3 lads who have bought weekend camping tickets off SOS, meeting up with another few peeps who have also bought day tickets. There is no way I am not going to be enjoying myself at V this year.

Should the guy not be there we will be straight upto the organisers to state our claim, strength in numbers!

Fingers crossed all goes well!

Ben
