mr blue
Back in the mists of last september the first acts to appear at Wychwood 2008 were announced. Kate Rusby was the first along with comedy from Andy Smart and Phill Jupitus. Jupitus appeared on breakfast telly this morning to plug his play in London 'Life Coach' which runs from May 20th to June 14th. Does this mean he's not in Cheltenham this weekend? No Improv? No much anticipated team-up with The Blockheads? Is it too late to ask for my money back?
windowshade_curlymint
well spotted, I was looking forward to seeing what sort of job he makes of fronting the Blockheads. I await answers to your pertinent query.
eFestivals
I'm unsure if he'll be with the Blockheads or not, but am aware that he cancelled his comedy slot because he decided to take another booking instead despite having agreed to do Wychwood. Grrrrr.
Alibongo
Well he can s*d off then, that's not very good manners! And he's local to where I live so will have a word if I see him walking down my road again as he did a short while back!

Jimboaa
Qick message from site...everything up and looking splendid...yes sorry Phill bailed on us and we were all a little disappointed by the whole affair...HOWEVER his place will be taken for the improv shows by the hugely talented Josie Lawrence who will be doing her first ever festival...that should be fun! timespeedsup
Josie Lawrence. Crikey, I haven't heard of her since.....when was Who's Line Is It Anyway last on the TV. Must be 10 years ago or more. Excellent replacement I would say - looking forward to it.
mr blue
Josie Lawrence!!! Do you mean Florence from Cradley? Not quite Phill and the Blockheads but a good replacement nonetheless. Blimey it's hard o type when you're pist.

mr blue
It's not that hard but you have to concentrate really hard and make sure you proofread everything or you get the little 'edit' box at the bottom of your post which tells everyone what kind of state you are in. (that's the nearest to a pist smiley)
Medina
I just wait till sober so I can find the computer without head-butting it. Shame about Phill Jupitus though he's still confirmed for the Stokes Bay Festival on August 3. In fairness to the Wychwood organisers they did stop advertising him some time ago... and Josie Lawrence is a top-notch comedy replacement though she may not dance around with The Blockheads singing Sex 'n' Drugs 'n' Rock 'n' Roll like Phill does. Thank goodness Wychwood looks set to survive the weather even though the Sunrise Celebration has sadly gone under... literally. You have to feel for Festival organisers as well as their audience when the weather intervenes - months of hard work can be laid to waste by a couple of hours heavy rain.
