  1. Today we tried out our new Decathlon inflatable beds and realised our (also needed) pump wasn’t powerful enough so had to get another (we’ll try again tomorrow when it arrives). Old sleeping mat fits perfectly so that’s a win! We also ordered our new tent. Add one more to the list of 4.1 F&Bs (we toyed with 3-man options for a bit but took the longer view). Old one will be heading east once we find a way to donate it. I’ve fretted some more over a new sleeping bag. Think I’ve worked it out now. While I don’t strictly need one, mine was bought for me 15-20 years ago for some school trip(s) or something, has seen at least 11 festivals since then and a lot of other occasions but is showing it’s age in many ways all the same. We are having a major kit refresh as we’ve not been in a long time, are a bit older, value our sleep at the best of times and couldn’t countenance not being onsite so are making our set up as nice as we can while still being able to carry it in one trip between us. The refresh seems to even be hitting the choice of campsite amongst our group who have decided that the hill up to Hitchin isn’t worth it anymore. I still love the field and will miss the hillbilly flag but I agree it’s a bastard at 3:30/4am after a night in the naughty corner. More fun than any of that I’ve been explaining how the Clashfinder works to my old man who is going for the first time this year! He and his wife were a little overwhelmed by the size of it but I made it make a bit more sense to them I think!
  2. The album is fab (do congratulate her if appropriate!). Waiting on my splatter vinyl at the moment. I forgot about her Stonebridge set too. My guess would be DJ in Stonebridge and San Remo with an outside possibility that the Sonic one is 'live' but I guess with the nature of her stuff there may be less distinction. I'll be at Macca during the Sonic one so I'll either see her at one of the others - or more likely she will be one that gets away this year.
  3. I'm keen to see HAAi but am a bit afraid it may be a DJ set like Romy before her. Does anyone know what type of set she is likely to be doing? I note that Ross From Friends and those two are in the same order on Sonic (Sat) and San Remo (Sun). I'm guessing the Sonic slots are live and the ones on San Remo are DJ? Any takes?
  4. It ain't so! But PFB to Bonobo is not quite ideal. Pleased I saw Idles earlier this year though on a clash front
  5. OK none of those are on his website. Fair enough. Edit: I should have known - I've been eying up that APE Disclosure day for months.
  6. Anyone holding out hope for Fred Again.. (like myself) can let it go. He has put on IG Stories today that it isn't happening. To be fair he has no live shows at all planned until a US tour in Sept/Oct and he is in the throes of putting together AL3 so it makes sense. He'll be a shoo in for next year though.
  7. Where are my fellow Halvin cheerleaders at? Give me an H!... etc etc.
  8. PFB vs WA vs Bonobo?! say it ain’t so… please… I feel like all my priorities are going to be clashing with each other across the three days. Maybe I’m just a very 7-9pm at Glasto type person?
  9. Would I be chased with pitchforks if I were to suggest the full drop might be after the bank holiday? I'm as hopeful as anyone else that we get it next Wednesday (I've prepared my spot next to my bed already) but I think there is a very real chance it comes after the Jubilee. edit: I wrote and posted without refreshing and reading the whole thread
  10. I can very highly recommend the Loop Experience Pros. I've used at my last 3-4 concerts and they have been magically good (so long as you put them in before the show and adjust as it's all relative). They have an additional thing you can put in them to increase protection at louder shows - I only needed this sat in the front row at the O2 for Tool, otherwise I've been fine without it (front row for Bonobo at RAH, Sound desk for Foals at Olympia) They don't have the multi-tier nonsense others have - i find them really uncomfortable - as they are just like most earphones and come with a range of rubber and foam options and sizes in the pro set. Until now I've felt like you - that they numb out the sound but between these new comfortable ones and putting them in before you get in range so you don't know the difference I'm a convert.
  11. Every bar was playing Jackson hits too - I've a distinct memory of sitting on the WH benches opposite the Brothers bar with them playing him - so I did sort of believe it but even then it was so out of the blue and could be a collective ruse, I wanted verification. Suffice to say I did not have the same issues with Brexit. Aside from smart phones, someone 2 tents over shouting "FUUUUCK" at 5am was all the confirmation I needed! ...maybe I've become more trusting over the years?
  12. And this year would be the perfect year for the 'Queen is Dead' rumours. I remember it took until Friday and several texts from people back home to believe that Michael Jackson had died in 2009. Now it would take seconds to verify. While modern tech brings us a lot of benefit, it is an aspect I wish we could collectively recapture sometimes. (Obviously it's easy to do yourself but you are still impacted by those around you)

You've beaten me by a 'bonobo video distraction' number of minutes (I was at one of the shows but not that one) to asking the exact same question and see if anyone has any idea. Based on nothing at all they might be adding screens to the stage this year?
  14. Live in London at the moment with a 20 minute walk to the supermarket and almost never use online delivery so got that covered naturally between that and London generally being a walking city existence for us. I'm thinking a bit of weights training and a few runs to build up the strength, cardio and stamina. Probably start today as it happens!

This sounds utterly magical. As I'll likely be at Macca I shall imagine this is how her set ends and no-one can now convince me otherwise.

Well now... that's an absolute banger of a line up isn't it!?
  17. Heading out from site to find him, fine. Getting back in, probably horrendous. The bus queue should be OK - maybe half an hour but then I'd count on a an hour or two in the wristband queue to get back on site. You might get lucky though.
  18. OK so... I've been unwell for a long while and am now better (hurrah). But it meant I couldn't do any of this fitness lark for the duration and I'd fallen off the wagon a long time before it kicked off around Christmas. Do we think it's possible to get match fit in 3 weeks? Goals are: kit not breaking me lugging in on Weds and being able to remain (somewhat) upright until Sunday. Oh man the difference between a fit Glasto and an unfit Glasto is worlds apart - you guys have the right idea! I got fit for the 2016 one and it was so worth it!
  19. They’ll help with the smell!
  20. Spotted on IG. Big Joanie on Sunday For Park. Other slots too apparently.

Oooh this gives me hope for Jarv Is then! I’m also in the gutted for the Jessie Ware vs Macca camp, I’ll be extra upset if Jarvis is clashing too. I’m gonna guess I’ll get only one of my top 3 at this rate. Other being Avalanches. (OK Wet Leg too)
  22. I was assuming "Do I want to see them?" as given. I knew I was forgetting one: Will I get a chance to see them again? There are others of course but it boils down to those initial two most of the time. For you at least, if you are going to regret not seeing Macca and you see Charli that often then I'd still say go for Macca. If your missus doesn't want to go to Macca then you can split (I know you said you didn't want to but sometimes needs must). Also you might find on the night that you want some power pop rather than an old crusty anyway. I once had almost the same situation (albeit lower stakes). Both me and OH are big Frank Turner fans and while we see him almost every chance, he does play Glasto often. I was also into Courtney Barnett at the time (Sometimes I Just Sit tour) while she wasn't. They were both second on on Other and Pyramid respectively with exactly the same stage timings iirc. I made the call to see Courtney and my other half went to Frank. To this day I still think about how bad the clash was but I don't regret it. I saw something different and had a good time - to me that is as much what festivals are about as seeing your faves. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to it for you though! PS. Macca is due to be on for 2 hours Charli won't be. If the clash happens, depending on which stage and position Charli is on - you could do both, one way or the other. Don't panic just yet. 2-3 weeks to go until we find out.
  23. Let me introduce you to my rules for deciding on a clash: Have I seen them before? Would I pay to see them on their own terms? If the answer to both for one artist is yes, go for the other one. If the answer is no for both go and see that one. If you have the same answer for both artists it's a coin flip or how you feel on the day. From what you've said, it sounds like if the worst happens - both go and see Macca. Charli will have a full blown tour soon, will return to Glasto and will be going for a lot longer that Sir Paul has left.
  24. The Who's Playing What Day thread has ruled Chali out for Friday so you've got a 50/50 chance as it stands
  25. Same place you get monorail passes
