  1. Boxes of Lilleys Cider (something strong and dry, something medium and sweeter to have options or mix). Not too much as don't want too much weight going in and would generally rather take some extra cash and have the fresh stuff but this is good for the campsite and between bars. Real pro tip: Camelbak. They are not just for water! One of our crew brings red wine in one. We've taken to cider albeit the last bits can be a bit warm.
  2. Daft Punk... no, Pink Floyd.... no, Daft Punk.... no Pink Floyd... Daft Floyd, Pink Punk DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!!! Rules are made for breaking - these two are the dreams. If absolutely forced, Daft Punk I guess. (but also Pink Floyd) (interesting no one has suggested Led Zeppelin...)
  3. A massive mask across the stage attached to massive ears on each flank side. Might not be great for seeing the acts though. In reality a peace sign is the most likely and suitable right now especially with the potential for a nuclear threat to emerge.
  4. Was wondering whether they might appear this year but dates of their Las Vegas residency seem to rule it out (23 and 26 June). It's a shame, would never pay to see them on their own terms but would definitely have swung by for it here.
  5. You think I can remember well enough to telly up numbers?! I can't remember breakfast! I do know that as much as I try to go elsewhere, Pyramid will be the one. 8 festivals and only 3 headliners were not on the biggest stage (Kool and the Gang over Beyonce, Massive Attack over Kasabian and LCD over Coldplay) Nonetheless I like the idea of this challenge - partly as I would love a complete list of acts I've ever seen. Will give it a go and report back!
  6. IIRC they did also get licence for increased capacity in the last licence but no indication that the whole thing would be used so they may be using some flex there. Another thought is that 'the tickets weren't allocated properly' could mean that they were allocated but just not to them in that moment and the tickets coming up after sell out could just be other forms of failed or incomplete orders. Pleased tickets seem to be being honoured though. Was half expecting full refunds with an apology.
  7. They give 5 stars? I thought they only EVER gave 4 stars anymore regardless of what the review actually says? 😉
  8. Given their mutual success on the Texas Sun and Texas Moon EPs this is a certainty I would think. I saw in the who is playing which stage thread some suggestions they would be headlining at the same time - I'd be stunned if this occurred instead of reciprocal guest appearances.
  9. Around the time this thread was created I was wondering if I would be able to find old maps to see how the site has changed as I was getting reacquainted with the 2019 one having not been in a long while now. How did you know? If you're reading my mind: ignore that thing there - I'm not serious. Don't tell anyone! 😄
  10. Thanks for the thread folks (2.5 years later). I was about to make my own highlighting the still highly interpretive phrasing to gauge opinion used until I found this. Good to know they are not over-zealous. Given that, my concern would be the weight and bulk or spending more time taking pictures than being at the festival, or being back and forth to the lock ups as articulated here. Stuff to think about for sure. I have an old compact that has seen me through many a festival but it is on it's last legs and I've got into DSLR photography and all that goes with it since the last time I went (2016!) so am reviewing kit to see what's sensible and going to keep me happy while there and afterwards. I certainly don't want any bother with security or to blag myself anywhere. Just want great pictures of our favourite place and friends that I may not have been able to take before. Was thinking I may have to fork out for a new compact (might be a good idea anyway...) but if DSLRs / mirrorless with reasonable lenses are OK thats something to consider.
  11. Leapt around the room like lunatics and grateful that everyone else in our groups were through at the same time as carrying on might have been difficult. Haven't stopped smiling as once the happiness for myself goes then I'm happy all my friends are there and then I get to go with the old man and then Diana Ross is playing and then back to us again. Round and round and round. So many reasons to be happy. I honestly didn't think we would get a full gang festival again with the current demand for tickets. Adrenaline rush has receded just enough by the time we got to the pub for lunch.
  12. Best paid work I ever did! Not so much in money terms (I was but a lowly intern) but in terms of impact! I had literally NOTHING better to do for the business in spite of asking repeatedly so I conducted some extensive research instead. Props to the gang - it's SO good now. Seen you getting quoted in NME and the like too! Bet you never thought you'd be an influencer! Love that these boards have spawned that and the Clashfinder site. Are there any other projects that have emerged from here?
  13. ...why not both? 🍻 Both is good! The 3pm Brothers is out own ritual but my god it's sweet for me these days - I think we'll grab a Burrow Hill instead. I was wondering where the efests one was. Will definitely try and swing by assuming my cats are herded by then! Need to put some faces to these avatars. I assume you all migrate up the hill for fireworks? (all the gears are starting to turn again today as I remember it all ...monorail service status? 😉) So bloody over the moon to be back! I can barely express it!
  14. Storytime. See my signature and you'll see I'm a veteran of these boards (15 years!) but sadly don't stick around too much in off-season. Nonetheless I genuinely did a jig for @crazyfool1 when I saw their success on Thursday and have been driving Mrs Beaver mad exclaiming similar tenured names in this thread with their success or decision not to. Long one ahead - hope it's worth it: I had an 8 festival run 2008-16 without a hitch (relatively speaking). A truly blessed time and so genuinely eternally grateful. It is after all, at least 7 festivals more than most get (if not 8!) but Glasto is a fundamental part of me like everyone else here and it is my Christmas (not so keen on the Winter version). I'm also West Country bred living only 20 minutes away from site since 95 (or at least my parents still do... I've moved to London as one does. - I'll be back!) so there's that. Waited years to see Foos (RIP Taylor) and Radiohead on that stage, missing Foos when Grohl broke his leg - have that t-shirt - and of course the year they both appear is the year that only my group of six in our cartel didn't get tickets. No one from my entire cartel got them in 2019 either. Then the plague hit. I had genuinely written off going this year as well in spite of my proclamations that there ain't no mountain high enough, valley deep enough nor river wide enough that would keep me from Diana. However, one has to be realistic. Even up to last night where I was awake at 3am (thanks BST) designing the list of must-do's for the lucky newbies in my life. Those newbies include my Dad who has seen me go for all those years and finally has bitten the bullet (with his camper van) and got lucky in 2019. I really wanted to share my favourite place on earth in person with him but assumed disappointment given recent form and a run of bad luck in my personal life that included burnout, a chronic illness flare, getting our favourite virus and missing a best mates stag do very recently - one of those life phases, ya know? When it rains... We failed on Thursday. No surprise as I don't get on well with the coach sales (so complicated under such pressure!) and much prefer launching from parental homes anyway. This morning rolls around and the adrenalin is running even if I've accepted the outcome. The post that included the auto refresh extension and other technical advice caught me last night so I thought why not? I usually end up on WhatsApp for much of it, draining refreshing opportunities, as I'm the local Glasto king and everyone comes to me for advice and news - many here will be similar I'm sure! So I figured if that could do it for me and stop once it loads then I'm free to do both! IT WORKED! Much like others here we went through 4 cards to make it work, including my bank trying to call me to verify (4 hours later!). Our other core group got in at the same time and I later found out the other major group, in the old cartel we weren't using this time, also got in. The best bit is that it was due to efestival forum advice just like the old days - so thank you so much you beautiful bunch! TLDR: We were on a mission from God, the band is back together. It's 12 weeks to Glasto after 6 years away, we have our bags ready... Where are my sunglasses? See you at Brothers at 3pm on Wednesday (before realising it is sugary pish for early 20's Beaver and that the cider bus is now infinitely preferable - traditions are traditions though eh?) (I hope to be back on these boards and a little more active - I miss all the old hands and want to get to know the ones who have joined over the years) To Avalon! ...I can read the lineup properly now!
  15. The auto refresh extension has a very desperate Beaver and Mrs Beaver heading back to the farm for the first time in 6 years with a lot of intervening heartache. Thank you so much for this post. It literally saved us! WE'RE BACK BABY!!!
