Don't blame it. If I was out in the sun on a day that's 30 in the shade, I'd probably get up to 49.9° then black out and need to be taken back inside 😂
-
After 3 years? Does that mean there's a guest who was on the poster in 2020?
-
When the forecast says 23, that's 23 in the shade. Dancing in a field in direct sun is going to be a lot warmer. During 1 of the warm spells last year, it got to about 30° where I live. Out of curiosity I put a thermometer in the garden in the sun, it got up to 49.9 then the screen went black and I had to take it back inside to cool down.

What gave it away, bumping a 12 year old thread, the writing style (I assume it's the same chatbot that writes all these spam posts), or talking about a problem that nobody has ever had that needs a genius product to solve it? Incredibly unsafe to go to the communal bins? I think they're going to a different glasto to me!

Yes, but a butterfly farting in Ayrshire could cause a tornado in Somerset (or something, I don't really understand chaos theory)
-
But rain is also entirely normal, and people keep reacting like a single drop will ruin the festival. Ok, nobody wants another 2005/2007/2016, but a bone dry glasto is still an anomaly.

If I remember correctly (and it was a while ago, so I might not), after tickets sold out Jarvis tweeted something like "oh no, I'll have to find another way in", so that was a pretty big hint they were 1 of the secret sets.
-
They also say 25 June, so they might be local Sunday tickets. Maybe that's why they've gone to the wrong address, those people have moved and didn't update their details because they're not in the local catchment any more 🤔

What have you done today to get ready for Glastonbury 2023?
Simsy replied to MEGATRONICMEATWAGON's topic in Chat
I stuck a can of the espresso martini in the freezer a couple of days ago, can confirm it has frozen and not exploded. -
Smallest crowds on big stages/biggest crowds on small stages?
Simsy replied to churlie100's topic in Chat
That was tiny, I was just behind the barrier at the back of the pit and there was pretty much nobody behind me. -
I've got a couple of these that are quite comfy.
-
You might not even need a ticket at that time of day, just waltz straight in.

Saw her at neighborhood weekender, great fun. I'll definitely be seeing her at Glasto, unless I'm at Gwenno / Japanese Breakfast / Cassetteboy... This year's lineup is a clashtastrophe.
-
I haven't done a deep dive on all of these, but I did buy tickets for boygenius later in the year because I know they're playing in the US over glasto weekend so they wouldn't be there.
-
Exactly, why would you buy their product if you already know you won't win? They don't want to stop people from giving them money.

It's disappeared from the poster, so it'll be a surprise for anyone who wasn't paying attention earlier 😂
-
There are days/times for all the films other than Spiderman, so I'm guessing that's the Saturday 12:30pm "suprise" and it wasn't supposed to be on the poster 😂

Leave your extra beers/jacket in a conveniently located lockup to pick up when you need them. As a bonus, put them in something like this so you don't have to lug an empty bag around once you've drunk the beers.

One for people with periods - chats, support and advice!
Simsy replied to caroline1975's topic in Chat
I'm on the pill so I've always just rolled on to the next pack if my period is going to clash with Glasto, but I'll stick my thoughts in anyway. If you use a mooncup or similar, take a bottle of water into the loo so you can give it/your hands a rinse (take the lid off the bottle before you take your cup out!). If you use pads/tampons make sure to keep them in something waterproof. Keep some soap in your day bag so you can properly wash your hands even if there's none at the sink. You can take a number for the Greenpeace showers so you don't have to stand around in the queue. Or go when it's less busy, if you can fit it in your clashfinder. It's mostly communal, but I think there was a separate shower in there with a bit more privacy if you need it (you might have to wait a while for that). I haven't used the kidzfield showers so I'm not sure what they're like. There are onsite pharmacies, and I think you can get ibuprofen from the co-op. They probably do pads/tampons too, but it's not something I've been looking out for. The lockups give out free bogroll (give a donation if you can) so you don't have to worry about running out. -
Shakshouka could be a good low carb breakfast option (eggs/tomatoes). Think there are a couple of places on site doing it. Come to think of it, middle eastern in general might be a good way to go. Swerve the pita bread and couscous, but falafel, hummus, ful medames should be high protein/low carb. No idea on the huel, I've always just assumed it's a portmanteau of horrible gruel, doesn't sound appealing to me.

That's not a crocodile, it was left there after the Eurovision party.

Haven't done that for good clothes, but if you don't want to go back to camp (eg if you're in worthy view or campervan so it's a bit of a trek) you can leave some warm clothes in a convenient lockup and grab them for the evening. This is a great idea. I also put a contact number on a piece of paper inside the phone case as the lock screen trick won't work if your battery dies.

I don't think the whole thing was cyclists' camping last time. I was camped approx at red dot last year & I'm pretty sure only the yellow box was cyclists, think the bit to the left was general camping.

I went to the rehearsal/jury final last night. You're in for a treat, it's a hell of a show.
