  1. I don't think they really care who's announcing what day, it doesn't affect them much at all. But it looks like there could be an announcement this week, likely a pre announcement coming on Monday / Tuesday. Hope there's some good alternative stuff this year, 2021's line-up was great, I'd rather not have too much pop, or bands who are well past their sell by date.
  2. I don't think he's playing, there's been so many "X festival is announcing, might be Kendrick" over the last few months. There's been a lot of theories that are becoming more and more farfetched and clutching at straws, with the Superbowl, Coachella and new music. If it wasn't for this "info" we'd be ruling him out. Not a fan of him anyway, so I've been hoping he's not playing for the past few months, as I'd rather roll the dice again and might get a headliner I prefer.
  3. Black Midi on the park would be great And a run of BCNR > Shame > Phoebe would be great to end the festival. I think I'm going to spend a lot of time by the park this year looking at everyone touring.
  4. Yeah that account definitely knows something, and is at least somewhat in the know.

    2022 Headliners

If coachella booked their headliners last minute, and Neil's info originates before then, and supposedly Kendrick was asked to play, why would he have said no?
  6. I didn't realise Liam was in Australia on the Sunday, so definitely won't be playing then. It's really odd that Haim are in America on the Saturday. It seemed that their UK tour was a perfect fit for Latitude, ending on the Thursday and what not, maybe they had a change of plan when Chilli's asked them to support and they saw it as a bigger deal. I don't have a clue anymore, Lewis is a lock but other than that it's mostly just possibilities. I probably won't be a big fan of the Obelisk headliners anyway and will end up in one of the two tents. Unless they drop a large chunk of the line-up in one go I feel like I might be a bit disappointed as is usually the case on here, but then it'll get better over time as they announce the smaller stages. Hope the Lake Stage is back this year, they always seem to book great acts on there. I'm getting rather impatient for an announcement though, hoping it's in the next couple of weeks.
  7. Liam also played an unannounced set in 2018, seems like he has a pretty good relationship with the festival and particularly festival republic. I can see them being able to get him back this year. Not sure if they'll go down this typical "big Saturday headliner" really. They might put the biggest one on Saturday but I don't think they'll ever try and book someone like Mumfords or Killers again where they blow the headliner budget on one act and end up with Fleet Foxes and Solange. I like the level they were targeting previously and have been for the past couple of years.

    Pyramid Subs 2022

A little off topic, but when people watch a sub to get a good spot for a headliner, where do they stand / move during the changeover? We went down the side of the Pyramid and got fairly near the enterance to the pit during the last 20 mins of Liam and managed to get in 5 minutes after he ended and got a pretty good spot. Did the same for The Cure the night after. Just asking as I've seen people camp as close to the barrier before the front pit as they can for the sub and headliner, and I've got a better spot than them for just timing the changeover.
  9. Can't tell if this is a pisstake, most stereotypical Manc I've heard in a while. Sounds like the kind of people left at the end of a Liam Gallagher gig who've been drinking since 11am and will start having a go at you if you don't tell them that you thought it was "biblical". Although I don't know anyone from Manchester who uses the word "Manny", almost always used by people who aren't from here. Also if anyone's at IDLES tonight, there's another O'Brien, who's supporting and who you should definitely check out. She was great at Latitude.
  10. I'd put money on Lewis headlining the Friday. He's self confirmed, there is no reason to think he won't be there. Haim's UK tour sets them up perfectly for Latitude and they were booked in 2020, so highly likely. Not so sure about the third headliner though, no one sticks out as that obvious. I think there's a 50% chance it will be one of: Liam Gallagher, Florence and Snow Patrol. If I had to take a punt right now I'm going: Lewis Capaldi, one of my three but I'll say Liam, Haim With your tent headliners being: Fontaines D.C., Arlo Parks, King Gizzard Hopefully we don't have to wait that long and they drop a significant portion of the lineup like in 2018. I'm also confident Kiwanuka will sub, maybe Haim.
  11. LCD Soundsystem. And I'd like to see a bit of post-punk stuff on the first poster, as there's lots of bands I think will play but won't be on the first poster. So having a smaller band I like on the first one would be a nice surprise.

Worth mentioning that Sports Team were booked for the Thursday at WG in 2020, they could be asked to play again as they're around. I think Wet Leg will definitely be one of the two on Thursday, their label will cream themselves over the chance to add "packed Glastonbury secret set" to the list. I just hope it isn't as warm as 2019, as it was fucking roasting in there on the Thursday evening.

There was just as many complaining about the poster design than there were complaining about the lineup in 2020. People will always moan, and most of the time it's the people who don't have tickets.
  14. I'd be up for a weekly Matt42 podcast about Glastonbury. He can easily get 90 minutes of content a week over rumours and speculation. Could even have listener engagement, with us having to guess which band he's thinking of and send it in for next week's show. If it's anything like his posts, it'd be a smash hit.
  15. https://www.primaverasound.com/en/artist/yeah-yeah-yeahs Listed on here as "only show on European soil". It's annoying as I'd love them to play on the Other like they did a few years back, it looked great.
  16. Apparently a European exclusive at Primavera this year.

When the 2014 poster dropped and there was a "Special Guests" slot, were Metallica already confirmed behind the scenes to take that? I remember reading on here they were originally lined up to do a non-headline slot but then got bumped up after another option fell through. Would Glasto have a poster that has TBA's in headline slots if they genuinely hadn't booked someone yet?

If they're going to wait longer to announce, I'd guess it would be this year. But it does contradict Emily's post. Could see it being released before the deadline, sometime in February. Or they could wait longer and release in late March like they've done in previous years. Could Emily's post be referring to a non poster announcement? Potentially announce another headliner and then keep us waiting for a poster?

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but did the poster come after the balance in 2015? Looking at the dates it looks like it should be -13.

    2022 Headliners

I think people on here will slate anyone who's music they don't particularly like. Whether it's Billie, Sheeran, Ezra, Killers, Florence, Coldplay, Foals, The 1975, Mumford's or whoever, I don't think its particularly based on gender. People will find things they don't like about a particular artist or their music and post about it. It's definitely more common with people who make more mainstream / radio-friendly music, and the female acts who could headline in the next few years happen to be making more pop oriented music, which doesn't perfectly align with this forums general music taste. People post negatively about things they don't like, and I don't think gender is the main reason really.
  21. I still find it absurd that Melvin genuinely couldn't remember the headliners they had booked for his flagship festival that they were about to announce a couple of days later. That makes me wary of his ability to direct and make decisions, as well as some of his events not being the best run, and I don't agree with some of the decisions that he's made to said festivals over the years. Saying that, I think Latitude is great and fairly well run - except from a few minor ish things, and will probably be back this year lineup depending.

I'm starting to think this as well, theres been months of: "X festival is announcing some names which one of our trio was booked to play in 2020 so there's a chance it could be them" and they've all come to nothing so far. If they announced some dates they could be back in the frame but I've been waiting for these dates so long, I don't think they're happening. Saying that, I have nothing to add on of who I think will be there to replace them. I have no clue and no one looks that likely at the moment which seems a bit of a contradiction. It's a bit odd how Michael said the big acts are similar to 2020 though, very strange. Especially as he sometimes let's things slip, like asking people what they though of Billie Eilish. However, I do think that The Rolling Stones would absolutely kill it if they were to be booked again.

Cheers. Emily's usually great at not giving away anything, so it's interesting to see analysis over what she says depending on the type of year they're having. Only been here since 2019 so I don't think I've experienced a year where they've struggled to find headliners and then not said much but I'll take your word for it.

What was Emily's post? Was it just the happy new year and news coming soon post, or was there something more?

They're in Mallorca on the Sunday I think? It's really hard to tell, contradicting info on different websites. So would have to play Saturday. 04, 10, 16, 22? Every six years? Although there is no pattern.
