  1. Was hoping beyond hope for the Jayhawks on the Acoustic Stage (or anywhere), got a reply from them 'agree would be amazing but, sadly, the answer is no' 😞 I'm sure there will be a few clinkers announced when the poster drops.
  2. I'd say I'd be coming from a similar position music wise re the line up. Going back even a little further, I was hoping for a James, Suede, Pulp (still hoping), Doves etc, bands of my youth. Guitar wise, from the lineup, bands I wouldn't really have know much about but am really excited to see would be Viagra Boys (think this gig will be immense), Shame, Working Men's Club, Murder Capital. I've seen Wunderhorse recently and they are wunderbar. Outside of 2 of the headliners, the likes Slowdive, Manics, QotSA, The War on Drugs, Royal Blood...now I'm thinking there's too much and I'll most likely miss a fair chunk of the listed bands 🙂
  3. Not strictly on topic, just wondering which stages, outside of the main ones will have live bands playing 'til late? The likes of the SE Corner, Arcadia etc will be electronic / dance. Would the vast majority of the later, smaller stages (running to 3am / 6am) all be electronic or do some of these venues have live bands playing late? That's making a big assumption that I'll still be trucking into the wee small hours 🙂 Thanks
  4. Grab a set of gel insoles for the wellies. The Scholl ones are around a tenner and are a great job
  5. For me the lineup is very very good, not great, and that's more than enough. Will definitely be trying to catch all 3 headliners. TBH, catching anything at all Sat / Sun will be seen as a bonus. A serious smattering of bands across all stages that I'm really looking forward to seeing. Viagra Boys from the Park is another added to a growing list, they are right up there, hard to beat, one band that will really get the blood flowing. Add in a couple of my favourite bands, The War on Drugs and the Manics, the likes of Phil Hartnoll hidden in the small print. Acoustic Stage lineup to be announced too....cannot wait !
  6. Was at my first Springsteen concert in Dublin on Tuesday past. 3hrs and 5 mins with no break, absolutely amazing night. Still buzzing from it.

    woodsies

9 bands there I'd love to see. Seen Wunderhorse support Fontaines a wee while back, superb. Will be a few Woodsies / Woods (to decompress) combinations during Fri / Sat / Sun 🙂
  8. Walking through Gate C with 5 of my best friends, 1 who I've been best buddies with since we were 3 years old for our 1st Glastonbury festival. Celebrating our 50th birthdays is a bonus (I think!) 🙂 The excitement has been building nicely
  9. Might have been mentioned before, day / possible stage for the War on Drugs?
  10. Sewed buttons on a few pairs of old faithful (buttons aside) cargo shorts.
  11. There's a lot of the bands / artists on the lineup I wouldn't be familiar with. Could be a good introduction / gateway for people to get to know the lineup a little better... ~G 'n R - Welcome To The Jungle ~Elton - Tiny Dancer ~Fever Ray - If I Had a Heart (sword and shield at the ready) ~The War on Drugs - I Don't Live Here Anymore / Holding On / Eyes To The Wind (like picking your fav child !) ~Phoenix - Lisztomania ~Manics - Motorcycle Emptiness ~Leftfield - Phat Planet ~Candi Staton - You Got The Love ~Royal Blood - Figure It Out A lot of my choices are very obvious, but really looking forward to hearing some / all of these blasting out over the weekend
  12. Ha! I've just be googling the very same product tonight and have added a few into my basket. We took tubes of ORS to the Shiiine On three dayer and tbh they definitely took the edge off. Next day functionality levels were higher. A few articles I read online comparing different electrolyte tabs etc had Liquid IV Hydration as their number 1 and it gets a good rating on Amazon
  13. Now bare in mind I'm only going for the 1st time, but we've been planning our group strategy re supping and eating, some great tips and tricks in here, a real source of great info. We've a campervan and are bringing blue ice blocks that'll chill during the night in the wee freezer part of the fridge. I've a large square collapsible cool bag (from Lidl) that will be brought, stores about 30 cans. We're planning to bring in some cans in small backpacks and leave the large cool bag in the lockups filled with beer and ice blocks, possibly ice from the co-op. Travel back to lockup to stock up with oldish beer / cider in the evening time. In saying that we're definitely doing a pub crawl around the site too! Can't wait
  14. I'll 2nd that, been using ours for a couple of years, great job. You can buy 6 packs of the gas (Colemans) which will last a good while
  15. Delighted for you mufcok. I'll not lie, I started the process fairly relaxed, but as I got the reg details page up (within 30 secs, took be my surprise big style) , location choice etc the heart rate was off the charts. See you in June, and hopefully loads more posters who'll strike gold on Sunday 🤘
  16. Yes, good to help too (Sunday). DM whatever details is needed. 👍
  17. That's a younger person's game ! 🙂 Bagels are a great job for the breakfast baps (good packing a much longer date than bread / baps)
  18. Hi Jacko, we're first Glastonbury attendees and staying in the CV fields. This was posted a while back re field order: Quiet: E21 accessibilities, staff, Evis family and friends -> E20 -> E23 -> half of E24 -> E19 -> rest of E24 -> E25. Up to E19 was filled byt Wednesday morning @ 7am General: filled as a horseshoe - E18 -> E17 -> E16 -> E15 -> E14 (at the same time as filling E15a, a small field that is known as VDub-land) Same order every year apparently. Due to flight times etc, we'll hopefully be landing onsite @ 4pm on Wednesday. Drunk out by 4pm Thursday, hanging in there Fri / Sat / Sun 🙂
  19. Ordered a decent pair of hiking boots and a couple of hoodies for the evening time. 🙂
  20. Remember seeing The Avett Brothers on a previous lineup poster, hard to believe that was 2010. The last time they played Ireland was March 2013, supported by Grace Potter. Absolutely brilliant gig. They have a huge following in America and just seem to tour the States 9 months a year, with the odd gig in Mexico. Really enjoying The Teskey Brothers (cheers Gnomocide). Calexico and Midlake would be a couple of super additions too. I'll add Dawes into the mix. Incredible band, though winding up after a tour and have to replace their long standing bass player, could be a longshot. Billy Strings and band would go down a storm. Does some epic electric rock covers live as well as the Americana / Bluegrass and Jim White would also be great.
  21. Hi..had a look and didn't see an existing thread. Hoping for some Americana at the festival, had a wee look at a few of the bands / singers I'd love to see and their June touring status: The Jayhawks (right at the top of my wishlist) - Touring in April The Avett Brothers - Touring USA , playing 22nd/23rd/24th June Gregory Alan Isakov - Touring USA, has a gap Mason Jennings - Touring USA to early June Jason Isbell - has a USA festival on the 25th June My Morning Jacket - Playing Primavera in June (would also be very high on my wishlist) Wilco - Doing European Festivals and have a gap Feel free to add, be great to get some possibilities / new names to check out...thanks
  22. Ah Gnomicide, a heavy heart reading this post. Phosphorescent would be one of favourite bands, but reading about Rainy Boy Sleep (Stevie) going up against Dolly! Knew Stevie and had done a couple of music nights with him around that time. Had heard his new tunes which were absolutely brilliant and he was so excited to get them out into the world. A great guy and sorely missed.
  23. First time for 5 out of our group of 6. All great buddies, so will be absolutely brilliant to go to Glastonbury and experience it with them. What I'm looking forward to most is not pinting in Belfast Airport, not pinting on the plane, not pinting at Bristol Airport, not pinting on the journey down, then pinting onsite as I walk around, all 6 or solo as much of the site as is physically possible on the Wed / Thurs. I'm NOT arriving home on Monday night to the wife saying "tell me all about it"...." well pet, I mind singing along to Rocket man and drinking cider at the Cider Bus", with the wiff of White Russians thick on the breath
