  1. Amazing. Top marks for holding it together so well. I would have laughed myself into a puddle if a security guard said that to me at 6am!
  2. Get impossibly, ridiculously lost at least 2 times and let that journey take you to places you never even knew existed Forget to put on suncream and wonder why you suddenly feel like a bag of ass in the afternoon take a walk around the SEC and the stone circle at 6am in the morning and look for the most ruined person you can. if you can't find one, it is because it is you (sidenote: you have to have been awake through the night for this one, no cheating and getting up early specifically for this one). Watch Beans on toast every day whether you like him or not* *one of our friends detests BoT with a passion so we made a game of getting him to watch one of his sets every day to see his absolute disappointment and fury when he realises what he's about to watch. It never got old (even if BoT eventually did).
  3. In my twenties that was definitely a problem that I had. These days by the time the fireworks have finished I may have a wander around until it's a reasonable time to go to bed so that I'm fresh for the thursday. I just don't have the stamina for 5 days fully on it anymore!
  4. indeed! I've been keeping an eye on precipitation and the next two weeks looks virtually dry aside from a few light showers. Very good for the crew there!
  5. not to burst too many bubbles, but that lovely chart is for the 28th of May. Though it is lovely that everyone is so happy that there's a nice bit of weather for my birthday
  6. Some big names appearing here that I hope to see on the farm. To echo other posters - Aphex Twin. He's got a glasto sized hole but I'm losing hope on that one. ICONN seems like the only place left where he'd fit - The Hives. They're just wonderful and always a great time - Pigs7x. Unlikely because they played last year but would be a (relatively) cheap booking, plus they appear to be free - Bloc Party - Squarepusher. glade is yet to announce so could be a possibility but has no dates this year at all so doesn't look active - Pulp. They've got to, haven't they?
  7. them and Ragnacock made me spit my coffee out. Pretty solid stuff for the Unfairground. Plenty on there that I'd love to see. And like last year, I'm expecting the aphex twin obsessives to get their hopes up seeing RDJ on the line up, only for them to be dashed when they realise that it's actually not him* *not that I fell for that again... no sir

    Arcadia 2023

It's a difficult one. While I am very disappointed that Arcadia chose to do this and by extension, tacitly endorsed Qatar's human rights record (tenuous I know but they *could* have took a stand), I also want to see Arcadia do well and have a secure future. If doing the World Cup meant it could secure the development of it's next big thing, then from a purely selfish perspective, it has a benefit to me. And to be fair, I continue to drink coke and use the services of some of the sponsors so it's not like I've boycotted anything else out of principle. So basically, disappointed but that's capitalism, baby.
  9. Exactly. Usually we set off around midnight, arrive around 4-5am and join the queue relatively soon after. I don't think there's been a year where any of us managed to get any sleep bar a briefest of naps so we all ended up being practically awake from tuesday morning. At least this way, we will stand more of a chance of getting something approaching sleep and cut out a lot of the queue as its the intermittent shuffling and picking up / putting down of bags that is the most knackering!
  10. We're planning on setting off a few hours earlier than usual to arrive for 12-2am and hopefully get a few hours sleep in the queue. Hopefully the weather will be good, otherwise we may have to rethink the plan. Unless we were leaving after 4am, I wouldn't be getting any sleep tuesday night anyway so may as well join the queue early and ensure that we get a decent spot.

    Arcadia 2023

There's 17 acts on this poster and last year, arcadia had 16 acts on it so it seems about right. Hopefully there'll be a surprise addition or two but I'm not holding my breath. It does feel a bit of a weaker line up compared to previous years but it's par for the course for glastonbury - and festivals in general this year
  12. Well this thread has been quite the ride! I'm going to try and make it down this year. I'm sure I've said that most years but this year I'm going to make more of an effort and set a reminder on my phone to tell me to get my arse to the R&F. be good see you all and put some names to faces!

    Arcadia 2023

Not too bad at all. There's a few things I wouldn't mind catching, clash dependant. Flo po b2b Daphni, Shy fx, sherelle and vtss could be fun.
  14. Welcome, Iggy! I look forward to seeing this place grow and evolve over the coming months and years. This place is a wonderful community and is an integral part of my festival build up. May I wish you the best of luck running this site, as I'm sure Neil will attest, it is quite the multi faceted beast that requires a lot of care and attention
  15. t'was more for the benefit of those not used to his weather based doom mongering!
  16. The remainder of May is looking like it'll be dry so this months rain won't be an issue. Outside of the next fortnight is anyone's guess so no need to worry yourself
  17. they could be one of the mystery b2b(2b)'s on the temple. I guess it would be easier to control over crowding in the venue but might cause a bit of issues if it draws a load of people to the temple and creates some congestion around that area
  18. That's how I've interpreted it. To be fair, it's been over a decade so it is due a refresh. Quite happy with that line up. Some gems in there, some bands I've not heard of but have immediately grabbed my attention (Empire state bastard, I'm looking at you) and a fair few familiar names. I didn't spend much time in Shangri La las year but I think I'll be making more of an effort this year

    Glastocam!

I second that. Though just spent a few minutes looking at the puddles on the webcam to reassure myself that it's not too bad and everything is fine on the site
  20. just gave it a go using a friends registration and it's saying that I can't buy tickets with this reg number so clearly its some sort of internal promotion that they are offering to specific people.
  21. Conflicted. On the one hand, it would be quite amazing to arrive at Glastonbury and only know who the headliners were and spend a day trying to plan the rest of the weekend / completely letting go and let the festival take you where it wants. On the other, the obsessive side of me really needs to know what's on now, what's on later and what time I need to get there for. Though I'm sure if it happened, I'd quite like it
  22. I'd imagine it'll be very similar to how it was last year just without the WG tent so there'll be a bar and plenty of food stalls. It'll work as an area to go for a drink, something to eat and a sit down while you're walking between Pyramid and West Holts and hopefully the cars will provide something to look at for a bit
  23. Yeah, I'd be very surprised if there'll be live music but hopefully there will be something to give the place a bit of atmosphere. T'was always a nice place to hang out on thursdays regardless of being able to properly hear the music from the tent, hopefully CarHenge will retain some of that. My concern is that removing live music from this area will only put extra pressure on the other places that do and won't do much to address the over crowding issues we had last year.
  24. Yup, worst case scenario is that I'll finally get to use my SeelSkinz waterproof socks. But I'd still rather be in a wet, muddy glastonbury than anywhere else in the world that weekend.
