  1. The first thing I'd say is actually don't put too much pressure on having the most magical, wonderful time. There is an overwhelming amount of things to do and experience almost to the point of option paralysis. In the words of Kevin Parker "just let it happen"
  2. No doubt. Could well be the most contested resale we've ever seen. Might also be the most amount of tickets available too but I don't think it'd make too much of a difference due to such high demand
  3. I will show deference to you as I may have been looking at an older map and relying on my memory!
  4. IIRC, the taxi drop off / pick up point is up around Gate A. Regarding taxi firms, not local so can't really offer any help apart from search for local firms. I found this one that looks ok though - https://www.airporttaxis-uk.co.uk/Transfer/Glastonbury-BRS/Bristol They'll also be a bit more knowledgeable about traffic conditions on the Monday. Might need to leave a bit earlier to be sure though!
  5. Don't give me hope. I've only recently come to terms that I'll never see them live. I can't go through the rollercoaster of emotions of 2013 when rumours of Daft Punk playing Arcadia started circulating when I was on the other side of the site. Never been so relieved to find out I was missing chase and status.
  6. Well, he is the son of an investment banker and was educated at Eton alongside Prince William.. But yeah, left wing as it gets /s
  7. I've got mixed feelings about 2016. On the one hand, the ground conditions were the worst I've dealt with. Barely being able to sit down for 18 hours a day, feeling like I'm dragging concrete wellies while taking three times as long to get around places. It was a slog. However, LCD on Sunday made all of that irrelevant.
  8. I've been racking my brains to find exceptions and I'm struggling. I'm sure there's some out there and am looking forward to them being pointed out to me though! - I'll check out Dinosaur Jr's album next thanks @Punksnotdead I don't even think it's a case of nostalgia for their earlier work. After a certain point bands run out of things to say and song ideas, plus they are no longer starving artists who need the album to be a success
  9. New albums by bands that have been going over 20 years very very rarely are anything other than shite and Coldplay have the right idea about stopping writing new music. It's probably the first and only time I have agreed with Coldplay. I need a lie down
  10. Oxylers is great for The Other Stage, Silver Hayes and John Peel. Big Ground / Kidney mead is great for the Pyramid Pennard Hill is my personal favourite. it's closer to Arcadia, South East Corner and Other stage. Park Home is a good alternative though It really depends on where you're likely to spend most of your time, there's not too much difference in atmosphere between Oxylers and Pennard (been a while since I was in Oxylers though!) but from what I remember, Big Ground / Kidney was a little bit more laid back. And yep, if you want to stand a good chance of getting a space in any of the above, make sure you approach Glastonbury from the right direction so you get in the queue for the Gate closest to where you want to go (Gate D for Pennard, Park Home, Oxlyers. Gate A for Kidney / Big ground) and get comfortable for the next 8 hours!
  11. The dairy grounds and paines usually has a bit of space left come wednesday afternoon. If they are full, the south parks are the last to fill up from what I recall. It can be a bit of a trek but it's closer to Arcadia and the SEC than your usual spot. And yes, D gate is the one to go for. Good luck in convincing your friends!
  12. I do love me a weather thread. I'm mentally preparing myself for a wet one this year but if I'm being honest, I don't really care as long as it's not extremely hot or extremely wet. All that matters is that we'll all be there come June.
  13. Yep, put me in the 100% crew. I'm not going to jinx it by saying any more on the matter
  14. From what I remember, you can do as long as you approach the site from the right direction - which I think you will do. You should be able to access the car park from the tuesday evening / night so you can queue to your hearts content
  15. I'm getting more and more optimistic by the day. Started the year at 50% and now at around 75%. To be fair, I won't feel 100% certain until I'm in the queue
