  1. I have to say in my 11 stays in CV East (starting in 2007) i have never had reason to complain about the entry & exit.. Even the 2016(?) massive pre-fest soaking that meant they delayed CV entry at the last minute and had huge queues on the roads for hours was handled as well as it could have been (shuttle tractor pulls getting campers on site from the road & emergency use of B&W..) The entry, considering it uses the v narrow Pylle Road, always seems super efficient to me.. and the stewards are nearly always friendly and have accommodated when we have arrived in (near) convoy.. I would be interested to hear your specific issues The exit, down the same narrow lanes, is never going to be quick when you have hundreds of vehicles trying to leave around the same time.. to your point either leave at 6am or queue
  2. that field is not an option its not for general use, its eavis' friends and disabled. Pedantry Corner Sorry Neil... That quote wasn't actually me.. and I think you took the OP's quote out of context.. He was talking about distances of individual CV Fields from PGC.. Not whether he had stayed (or attempted to stay) in them.. He had 'Not bothered noting the distance of CV21 to PGC because its only a minutes walk..'
  3. btw.. the distances on the way back are somewhat longer as you weave your way up the hill...
  4. Nice.... (but you know someone is going to ask you to do the same for across the road...??)
  5. I may have met her last year.. A friend (on her own in a small cv) had obnoxious neighbours... A very helpful lady in charge helped us move her to a nicer spot 👍
  6. Only just seen this… Well done on the return.! I have October Drift in a couple of weeks , which will be my first since knee replacement in February… it survived the madness at Stamford Bridge last Thursday, which was the first football post op… keep up the exercise.!
  7. Ah no… NOT the Glastonbury Sign hill above the Park… I mean the Hill of Death (Slope of Mild Inconvenience) that takes you from PGC to the CamperVan fields(so outside the main fence)… it offers an excellent view over the site and is a gathering point for CV dwellers on Tuesday evening.. there is always a great buzz about the place.
  8. I have never seen a Campervan pull up to one of the taps in the CV fields… you are directed into the fields, parked up and that’s you done… no driving around site. fill up before you leave the Campervan hire place… it won’t cost you a lot more in the general scheme
  9. Thoroughly agree with the 'Turn up Tuesday' recommendations.... I love Tuesdays in the CV fields. (Its a camping holiday with the most unbelievable anticipation - Tuesday night on the Hill is marvellous) With regards to the parking, East General is filled up by E18, 17, 16, 15, 14.... So in effect you could turn up Tuesday evening and be parked in furthest east of E16 (long walk to Gate C) or turn up Thursday and park in furthest west of E14 (basically next to East Family and a short walk) see map and have a great festival (v jealous) :
  10. The person named on the ticket is supposed to be in the vehicle.... but, they are not going to want the hassle of turfing you out.. Take a photo/copy of your wife's ticket (I assume that you share a surname?), explain that she has been delayed by a day... If a pedant on the check-in doesnt let you in on the strength of that, I would be amazed... They are invariably pleasant people doing a decent job! PS - dont have glass in your van (including bottles)... That stops them being pleasant
  11. The People’s Front of Judea
  12. Enter via gate A…. Walk across the site to gate C…. Exit Gate C into the CV Fields (They will give you a pass out as you exit)… Up the hill of Death and you are in CV20… 2 things : - if you are camping with your friends in CV Fields, get them to take your stuff if possible (otherwise it will be a long walk - an hour or more - across site carrying stuff).. travel light… - have your friends meet you at the bottom or top of HoD (dependent on your load) enjoy!
  13. No… I wouldn’t do that… I don’t begrudge anyone else having a ticket, just sad that myself and my family don’t… pay your balance you lucky bastards… you will have the time of your life.!
  14. I am not… never done it before I have 5 in our group and would be interested @MatthewTurner if you still have availability
  15. Whilst the ‘Balance Payment email’ thread is quite depressing… (for the ticketless amongst us) this thread is always the most heartwarming… offering advice and support to help others enjoy their Glastonbury.. You are all the very best of e-festivals.!
  16. This thread is depressing for the ticketless…. ☹️ why did I even come here?
  17. Or a Glastonbury replacement if you are ticketless for the second time in 3 years.. the addition of The Meadow stage really added a whole lot of choice last year (most often daytime newer bands.. for me) as well as removing the feeling that you almost ‘had’ to go and see the Pallet headiner… Glastonbury always seems better when you don’t care for the Pyramid headliners… hopefully BT is heading that way
  18. John Bramwell (he of I am Kloot) is touring his new album sporadically throughout the year and I imagine he will pop up at a few festivals… would be a great addition to The Acoustic bill..
  19. How does it taste….? ”rrrruff..!”
  20. Hot Chip Other 2010 West Holts 2015 Park 2019 Woodsies 2023 a party every time…

    Glastocam!

    Chris Martin staking a claim
  22. Ideally a can of ginger ale with the rum & lime juice.. (coke will do).. should do you 3 or 4 drinks during the headline set
  23. Piglets? In the West Stand for the best part of a season I believe… sadly missed (like so many goal scoring opportunities)
  24. Well the op itself doesn’t sound like a bundle of laughs but the outcome (with hard work) has the potential to be pretty life changing.. without it, Reg in 2023 would definitely have been the last Glastonbury set I attended embrace it…. And good luck!
  25. Yes… we shall be looking forward to that date… 👍
