  1. my boat is a broad ship... room enough for cheese and musicianship alike.. and certainly room enough for artists that i may never have another chance to see...
  2. whilst I am most definitely in the Annie Lennox or Stevie Nicks camp... either would smash it..! I watched some of the BBC's Joan Armatrading coverage last night and if they want to continue with the legend being about more musicianship than cheese they could do a lot worse... terrific watching. tbf, neither AL or SN offer much cheese
  3. I think Tuesday is a bit of immersing action.... Getting set-up (possibly with friends/family that you have met on the way down), cracking the first beers, meeting the neighbours, a nice bit of dinner, sitting of the HoD for a view of the site... I love Tuesday in the CV fields.!
  4. don't you turn up on the Tuesday.? Prime day for sitting around the van eating and drinking with family & friends.. Then once most of the masses have gained entry on Wednesday head down in the afternoon for a mooch / efests meet-up.? Surely you must have a bacon sarnie for breakfast at some point??
  5. I'm with @gazzaredhere... you leave in the morning and thats you out for the day.. Granted you have the benefit of making your own breakfast in the morning and we normally have a chilli on Tuesday evening and a BBQ on Wednesday lunchtime before heading down late afternoon / early evening..
  6. an excellent post indeed.. I have been attending since 2007 (aged 48) and have only stayed in CVE If there were no CV fields it would have a big change on demographic... I would suggest the majority of CV'ers are 40+ and quite a number 60+ like myself.. I dont think it would change the demographic of SE Corner / Late night venues per se though, more the main stages where the music can be more mainstream.. What would change is the festivals economic model... the CV crowd are less likely to carry their own beer and food around the site and so bars and food vendors would take a hit. (I assume this is true for the pre-erected crowd too?)
  7. I would love to see them headline Woodsies myself.. Partly because the Other is my least favourite stage but I also think they are a band that like to connect with their audience and Woodsies feels better suited to that
  8. Whenever they were executed it was a genius and classy connection to the songs.. Typical of what they do. I hope the hip action was and continues to be a success…. (I am awaiting the first knee replacement)
  9. I was figuring that they would do prints of the drawings on future merch… my daughter would certainly love a couple of them
  10. Been changed to ‘unknown’… 👀
  11. The excitement of watching Setlist update in real time for tonight’s show….!! 24 tracks in and they are all different! they are only going to do it 😳 25! 26!

    2024 Headliners

    She does call herself Pink...
  13. They have added a handful (10?) of new US dates after Europe later this year and also announced Australian dates for March 2024... Would love to see them come back and absolutely smash a Glastonbury set..
  14. Likewise for me... Glastonbury has been my main holiday for years, particularly when my daughters were younger and I was buying their tickets also..
  15. Bearded Theory Early Bird tickets on sale today.... A beautiful (and less exhausting) warm up to the big event on the farm..
  16. I verified my family registrations when GFL told you to a few weeks ago... Then this week they sent a reminder so (being a worrier) i checked the registrations again... They had managed to youngest daughters forename onto eldest daughters registration...! I edited and corrected the erroneous forename and checked again and they had transposed the both of them! So 2 incorrect forenames.... (I hadn't been drinking) I edited the both of them and that seemed to work...

  18. sweet dreams are made of this
  19. Headliner for me.... although i've not forgiven them for kicking Rudi Salmon into touch..
  20. I travelled into the office in London yesterday, which gave me ample time to have a proper listen to The first two P's of F.. Like all that has come before it, its a grower that will definitely have favourite tracks changing over time.. I could not tell you a Taylor Swift song because they go in one ear and drift out of the other but I am pretty much obsessed by The Alcott, a really beautiful song. Tropic Morning News and Alien are also up there.. Cant wait to see them at Ally Pally (even if its a pain in the arse to get to/from)
  21. corrected your misspelling
  22. OK. ive given up on the Doobie Bros... (its not a band slot).. I am now all in for Annie Lennox .. She has been on stage a few times in the last couple of years and her voice sounds remarkable. (it'll be RW)
  23. i will see your Don Henley and raise you a Michael McDonald...
  24. broken record here... The Doobie Brothers have now added Canada dates to their 50th Anniversary tour...!
  25. Definitely The Park... and i didnt even get there this year (was taking it easy on the knees and then the heat kicked in) Woodsies and Avalon for 2 of my headliners this year were good..
