  1. It’s ok I remain a fan too. Loved the last album and seeing them in July
  2. I have one ticket for O Sees on the 10th November, at the Invisible Wind Factory, Liverpool. I can't go now, if anyone wants it please DM me. I'll give away for free or any contribution.
  3. Funnily enough I’m working at my local venue for the upcoming Focus gig. I love them. Gentle Giant are an eclectic taste to say the least. Try Octopus or Freehand. I’m expecting you’ll hate them!!
  4. True, for me. I used to not talk about old music on here as it shows my age. But now I just think fuck it I’m glad I’m old enough to have seen Led Zeppelin, The Ramones, The Clash, etc.
  5. No. I still love prog. Still listen to it when I’m in the mood. Gentle Giant and King Crimson this week…
  6. I was massively into punk (Clash, Stranglers, Jam, Siouxsie, etc) whilst still loving prog rock (Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Pink Floyd) so I was probably alone in liking both at the time. I though disco was naff (Apart from Donna Summer). I was wrong about disco. I wasn’t wrong about punk. It gave me some of my best music memories.
  7. Some of the best were the secret gig announcements (via word of mouth often) over the years, just checking back this one makes me laugh out loud, Beans on Toast secret gig at The Bimble Inn. So, if you missed him at all of the other 15 performances he did that year, this is for you…
  8. Fit the mobility scooter in the bubble. Then nothing can go wrong. It'll self-right. (or not)
  9. I have the same regrets. Only thing to say is it's impossible to always select the best of any given Glastonbury. With hindsight I'd have chosen the Lips.
  10. There shouldn't be any need for this thread anymore. I officially close it with a 100%.
  11. I've not thought of it that way, as I adore both bands I must like the ridiculous. In fact I'm so ridiculous I'm tempted to say I like the Flaming Lips more than Arcade Fire. The Lips have undoubtedly made poorer albums than anything Arcade Fire have, but their last two are glorious...
  12. Looking at the list again, in some respects it's very narrow, almost nothing originating outside North America & the UK. Musical genres even narrower. The ones on the list I've really played many, many times: Let England Shake Fever To Tell Funeral Elephant Vampire Weekend Soft Bulletin Norman Fucking Rockwell OK Computer Skeleton Tree Time Out Of Mind Golden Hour Fleet Foxes In Rainbows And almost certainly the most played: Songs For The Deaf
  13. I have 49/200. Don’t know what that says about me. I’m not in a rush to get any of the other 151.
  14. Thank you, I’ve signed up. I can pretend I’m at Glastonbury in August as well now!
  15. Managed a delightful 9 nights in Marrakesh. What friendly, peaceful people, what an intriguing old city where you can get lost in an instant wandering the maze of old streets. Delicious food. Staying in the Riad’s a pleasure. All that anticipated hassle around travel restrictions (vaccination proof, passenger location forms) turned out to be no hassle at all. Stirring to be woken up each morning at 6 by the call to prayers echoing around the city. Big recommendation from me.
  16. All true. All of us can be very high and mighty with our musical opinions, some attitudes veer towards elitism and arrogance.
  17. Fantastic. I’ll be there… Really good to see a rare October announcement, just the spur we need
  18. Also 'information on next UK tour pre-sale access will be sent closer to announcement' from their email. Billed as the 'Glastonbury warm-up' (only kidding...)
  19. Long time ago I slept on a bench at Edinburgh station, having missed the train back to Glasgow. Can’t recall which gig it was, possibly Siouxsie & The Banshees, so I guess at least I looked more like a punk in the morning!
  20. Simple little pleasures like receiving an email from See today reminding me of the original CV booking, from 2019. In the East Quiet area, ie not too much of a trek.
  21. I want to know what the woman at the front of the photo is doing. Did she wee in her welly? Is she throwing it at the eels??
  22. Every one since 2003. Have no intention of ever missing any and will do what it takes to get there! there's always a way...
  23. I’ve got the White album #3305! Only problem is it’s the first cd issue and probably worth about 25p.
