Hmmm. It's a funny old place, for me. I went to the Beat Hotel only a couple of times, in the daytime, and it was...odd. I told myself that it's just not for me and I wouldn't be bothering it again. Then, in 2022, I left my entire gang watching McCartney as I legged it to San Remo to make sure I was there for the start of Jon Hopkins. I'm glad I went. Because it confirmed for me beyond all possible doubt that I will never go in there again!! 1. It's too light, at night. I don't know what kind of vibe they're trying to create in there, but it's not the sort of club atmosphere that this raver likes. 2. The people were farkin' horrible! The vast majority did not seem to be there to dance, but were just there to be somewhere. It was the most discourteous crowd I've ever been in, with people turning around and whacking you with their backpacks, with zero awareness or consideration for anyone around them. There was SO much talking, you could barely hear JH over the mediocre sound system. As @Supernintendo Chalmers suggested, defo the wrong type/quality of drugs in there! I'm sure it's more a me issue than necessarily the place, but twice bitten, twice shy for me. Saying all of that, I quite like all the people crowded on the structure outside as I walk to and from Woodsies in the daytime! Ben

You don't need Twitter/Instagram, there's an online form you can use to enter. To be honest I'd assume that a majority of their customers do have smart meters at this point, and Octoplus is a simple opt-in rather than costing extra. So probably still a fair few million people eligible if they want to be.
-
Thankfully I qualify on all counts and will be entering on behalf of @Lucy92 ππ»π€π»π

I'm Team @GrumpyRaver! I think Daniel Avery is the only must-see for me, though (a) I'd forego that if he was playing somewhere else and (b) if Effy gets a good slot then she could be really good through the Glade Dome rig. Ben

The Octopus Energy comp could be quite good for a small number of people as you need to be with Octopus (I am) and have a smart meter (I do not) and be subscribed to Octoplus rewards and have an X/Twitter or Instagram account - I could be wrong but that seems like a lot of things to fulfill so potentially a low number of entries

When they last played, it was on West Holts, on a ridiculously early slot. A bit of a shame for all that stagecraft to be going off in broad daylight to a smallish crowd, but good for selfish reasons - i.e. easy to get the perfect spot to watch them. But no - I don't believe my own rumour that any of them will be finding their way to Glastonbury. Would be a great little surprise, but I've got a ticket to one of their UK gigs anyway.
-
Euphoricape started following Hip Hop and Rap Glastonbury 2024
-
Earl Sweatshirt played Lonely Hearts in Silver Hayes last year, so maybe there..? Would love to see Del and company, No need for alarm was played constantly in my teens.
-
Will be on, havenβt been on one for a while! π
-
Would LOVE me some killer Mike - but I think weβre past the moment - would surely sub or headline West Holtsβ¦
-
Worth noting I didnβt see a single puddle and whilst the grass was wet, the ground under it was firm. All will be fine π
-
Didnβt get many pictures as I was carrying a 4 month old around π Only other 2 are Pyramid (which surprisingly didnβt have fencing around it) and Stone Circle field which had VERY long grass.
-
Massive moment for Simz and so well deserved but I still think itβs a tough Pyramid audience slot to bring her brand of hip hop to. I tend to think exuberance sells live hip hop so Danny Brown likely to pop. Noname super worth seeing - Iβm expecting more hip hop on lonely hearts, I thought Kevin Abstract might be quite likely?
-
Theyβre playing quite a few gigs around Europe and then back in the Uk until mid June. Itβd be great if they were playing Glasto as I canβt make the Bristol date but canβt really see it. Where would they play? Probably only really relevant to the over 40s hip hop heads! Always seems to be a lack of hip hop at Glasto, even when decent acts are touring and playing festivals. A real shame Danger Mouse and Black Thought didnβt get asked to play when Cheat Codes was out. And looks like no chance of Killer Mike this year, despite his album being decent and picking up awards. The Saloon Carousel had quite a few less mainstream UK hip hop acts in previous years though.

Went for a wander today and it has indeed! No sign of workers today so theyβve done this in 2 days which is impressive.
-
Absolutely smashed it out the park (excuse the pun) this year

I've been disappointed by quite a few hip-hop acts at Glastonbury, including Wu Tang, as it often doesn't translate well to a big field. Two performances stand out though: Public Enemy, who were well worth walking away from the Rolling Stones for, and Deltron 3030, which was the best performance I've ever seen at Glastonbury. So in the spirit of starting poorly-evidence special guest rumours on here... 'Hieroglyphics' are playing in Falmouth on June 2nd, so that puts Del the Funky Homosapien (as well as the rest of Souls of MIschief) in the Westcountry at roughly the right time...

Editors one of my fave bands, so over the moon they are playing.
-
Would be class if they got a chance somewhere else. Not sure they're big enough though just yet?
-
I was wondering why they were not a sub-headliner. I just assumed they would be at least as popular in their home country as in the Netherlands. It's probably the other way around with Liam and Stormzy tho.
-
Yeah, the blandness in the slot before (Keane, Sugarbabes, Bombay) is pretty lacking on the main stages thus far. I would've thought PJH would be better as a headline on Woodsies as well tbh instead of Gossip too.

Love the obsession, clashfinder is my favourite website ever Personally I go for a traffic light system (red gets used for bands I dislike but friends want to see), green is most likely I will catch, and then go for 2-3 purples over the weekend that are βmust seeβ acts This is the best system and I will hear no arguments, but I love the devotion to highlighting every single act!
-
Used it just, got ticket for Β£195.
-
They already did it, I've removed anything that's no longer open.
-
no cheese comp this year then? do they still do the worthy view cheese or did they scrap it??
-
We get our 4.2 metre caravan, an awning and a VW CC on a 6m x 7m pitch. Depending on the size of the tents you might squeeze on 2 but 3 would probably give a nice space for a comunal area in the middle. π
