Bridge on the Campsite?

Hi Festival organiser people. I asked on the FB page about this but had no answer.

Is there a reason why the bridge on the capsite is always fenced off? It is the shortcut to the family fieid across the campsite and by the middle of the festival it is always partly / forcibly unfenced anyway. But those of us with buggies / carts etc cannot cross it. Is there a reason?

It is always a really long drag back to the family part of the site and tortuously winding up and down long roads to the back of the site - whereas as the crow flies it is quite short. We're the ones with little legs walking with us, loads of child related crap to carry (I know I know) and possibly more trips back to the tent with them. Can the access there be made shorter possibly?

Hi,

Traditionally, we've not been allowed to use the bridge during the festival. We are doing a site visit to the racecourse today, so will see if we can get access to the bridge this year. We will keep you posted!

There are 2 bridges on the campsite, one foot bridge on the end of the walkway, and one for horses. The foot bridge will be open. The horse bridge is a part of the course and we are not allowed on it. This is for the safety of the horses, in case a tent peg or any glass etc was dropped there.

Thanks for investigating this. I'm presuming then that this is the horse bridge I'm talking about.

Can you then review the paths people have to take to get back to the family field? See if it can be made a little less tortuous? Thanks.
