God, that's a lot for a maccy-D's, must have money to burn.

I'm sure the guy at the kebab place was getting justs as frustrated with you , it works both ways. Do you speak IRL like you do on here? I could see why that would cause a fer mis-understandings.

ok yes it cost us like £100 to get about £25 worth of Maccers!

And the previous night when we tried to order from Big Portion kebab house the geezer on the blower couldn't speak a word of English. very very frustrating

There's English and then there is slang depending on where you come from.

I'm sure he's been telling all his friends about some drunken idiot who phoned up trying to order food yet couldn't speak a word of English.

Geezer on the blower, for example, translates roughly into English as gentleman on the telephone :(

i am fairly sure i know if someones having trouble understanding me that it would be better to slow down and speak clearer English :D this guy did not speak English at all he was shit, i was spelling the address and he still couldn't get his head round it. my point is they ahve guys there who can speak English pretty good, so stick them on the phone!!

Hmnnn... so, it was late at night after a few drinks, and you'd been on "the packet".... Doesn't sound like a good recipe for speaking to someone who's first language isn't English.

I've had similar problems with foreign helpdesks and take-aways, a bit of patience goes a long way.

I went to a 21st birthday party on Saturday, I hated it. The whole room was filled with colleagues from Tosco, most of whom I don't like. I can't believe this girl's whole social life revolves around where she works......her mum works there, her dad works there, her mum's boyfriend works there, her dad's boyfriend works there. Her best mate is my boss there. Argghhhhhhhhh!! They played shit music as they do at these things and then the stripper arrived. I then got talked into going into town, drank one drink and then luckily escaped home with a friend who was driving. f**k that!!

I've got another friend's 30th this weekend, lets hope that's a little more inspiring. I'm not counting on it though...

I went off speed dating last night! :(

It was a giggle, but there were one or two really creepy men :O and some proper trainspotting types. A couple of decent ones too. Got a bit tipsy on fizz and then escaped immediately afterwards to wagamamas.

It remains to be seen if i get any interest, other than the bloke who's card i glimpsed and he had ticked every woman in there. :(

      What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.

      Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
