But...what about women's role in policing all this? Have you ever heard girls mockery of a girl with bushy eyebrows? Or the censure a girl gets if she's too flirty or dresses in a revealing way?

Surely men would encourage girls to make themselves available - it's other girls who often disapprove of easy women.

mmm - you see I think that women's self image is dictated by other women. In practice at least - some of the ideology may be based on the male ideal of femininity, but if appearance was dictated by men, wouldn't women always wear skirts and fishnet stockings, and (according to every male preference I've ever heard expressed) go around without makeup?

I think there's been a shift in the male perspective anyway, in that they now seem to see themselves as sex objects whereas in the past they didn't take care of their appearance nearly as much.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
