Okie, went to the ol' ECW/Smackdown taping in Biloxi Mississipi last week. And a fun time was had :P

First off, it was a damn small arena, and still only about a 1/3 full. The floor was full, but the top tier of everything except the camera-facing side was tarped off, and the camera side had maybe 100 people in it. (which is a shame, because all the talk & big spots were aimed that way.) From the brief bits i've seen online it even looks empty.

Not a whole lot to say really; other than a brief Kelly2 talking to the crowd bit while they were changing the ring, what you saw on TV is what we got. We got there a bit late, but I don't think there was even a dark match.

ECW first, then Smackdown. We saw a really good number of people, but also a fair few twice; after seeing Miz/Moz/Shelton vs Jesse/Festus/Punk, I really didn't need to see Miz/Moz vs Jesse/Festus 90 minutes later. The Jericho appearance was a nice surprise though :) And Funaki! :):) I thought he was injured.

As for crowd pops, it was a really marky crowd; cheer the faces, boo the heels. I just went along with it, especially as there was a load of kids in front of us. Festus was really popular (this was proper biscuit & gravy country), Colin Delaney got a lot of chants that didn't come across on TV. Lots of 'woo' chants whenever there was nothing going on. Oh... and much as i hate them on tv, the "what" chant when MVP was talking was great fun live.

I missed Batista's pyro when I was out getting a beer, but my god it was loud. Significantly louder than anyone elses, and they were loud. We were in the second tier & you could feel the heat from Kane's ringpost fire.

After the conchairto to end the TV show (which was terrible live, you could easily tell he wasn't making contact), Mr Pendulum did a run in, beat up Edge & co for a bit, then taker sat up, more beating up, and tombstoned Edge. Batista left, Taker posed over Edge with the belt (all this to the camera side with 100 people in it, why?) and left. The Major Brothers helped Edge recover, and he shouted at the crowd a bit, including at the guy with the "Edge Does Not Suck" sign you could see on tv.

And that was it! Crowd went home happy :)

Photo album here!

edit; one thing that was annoying- the recording was exactly as it was on TV. So if there was nothing happening on TV during an ad break (not even a jobber coming out), there was nothing happening in the arena; blank titantron. Good for beer breaks though!

Off home to watch ECW from last night - well looking forward to the 24 man tag. Proper spot-fest that will be :) People were saying on the last page about ways to watch online; dailymotion is really good i find. And even if they're not all on there, some users (a french guy in particular) have their websites on their profile pages which might have more.

It was announced on last night's ECW TV show that the 24-man battle royal at this Sunday to decide who will face Chavo Guerrero Jr. for the ECW title later in the night has been removed from the WrestleMania card and moved to WWE.com. The match will be streamed on WWE's website Sunday at 6:30 p.m. (Eastern)

That first youtube isn't coming up for me

ECW - i love that even in a 24man match, its Dreamer that gets pinned :P I didn't see Delaney in the picture of competitors for Sunday - i did think I saw Hacksaw though!

The last 4 people to get involved with the match were Kane, Khali, Mark Henry & Festus, so I'm taking them as my final 4 for the battle royale - which will be 15 minutes of entrances at least!

My picks;

Cena

Undertaker

Mayweather

Michaels

MITB is awkward cos they've all been made to look weak recently... I'll go with Kennedy

Batista

Kane -> goes onto win title

JBL

Playboy girls

Anyone remember the Hall of Fame thing at Wrestlemania 21 when they all came out before the main event? Everyone comes out in smartly dressed, and then Shiekh comes out in trainers! It was so awesome.

And Gre, i've edited the link above. I dont know how to get YouTube links working on here...

    • Had a wonderful booking in one of our primary woodland venues this weekend. A 30th birthday arranged by a load of musicians and entertainment industry professionals. It was primarily a folk oriented event, however I noticed one young woman who didn’t seem to fit dress and appearance wise. Turned out to be Frenetic, one of the top up and coming UK Jungle and DnB DJ’s.    Anyway Saturday night turned into an EDM session and I got to do a set. Slightly nervous considering who was there, it was great and Frenetic loved my set. She’s closing Data Mine at Shambala this year.
    • they got lucky and the thunderstorms stayed away. It was still wet of course. Some of those boot sucking puddles did emerge from what a couple friends saw who were there.  Post fest aerial also below   and also a sapphic mud wrestling contest?
    • It's even less funny when in real life too...   Liddle met Rachel Royce and the couple soon became romantically involved.[84] In January 2004 the couple married at a ceremony in Malaysia. They had been living in Heytesbury, Wiltshire, and had two sons together. Six months later, Liddle moved in with Alicia Monckton, a 22-year-old receptionist at The Spectator. It transpired that he had cut short his honeymoon with Royce so that he could be with Monckton. Following their divorce, Liddle and Royce exchanged attacks in the media. Liddle called her a "total slut and slattern"
