Over reaction alert!

I was talking about the term 'sixth form poetry' and not in anyway your argument, point of view or anything else 'you' related for that matter. So take a deep breath and, perhaps, tell me what you meant by sixth form poetry.

Pseudo-intellectual-mystical-drug-addled-professing to say everything about life but not really saying anything-self-absorbed-vagueness masquerading as profundity etc. That sort of thing.

A Ride example? :

Thats an assumption on the authors part.

Others identify him through looking at his physical body. However, he cannot. Using his body as a signifier of his being is cleary as arbitrary as using a blackbird flying in the sky to him. He speaks quite clearly of alienation - which is not necessarily a self absorbed vagueness masquerading as profundity.

Was it in this thread that a few of you guys were talking about Ben Harper not long ago?

I saw him in Derby last night He played support for the Chili Pepper's Pride Park gig. It was a good long set too actually for a support band, easily over an hour.

I was pleased actually because it was meant to be Goldfrapp (whom I can't say I am a fan of) but they pulled out

Easy. Regardless of your interpretation of that example I dont think that a) was the original intention of the original Ride lyric and the Ride lyric is any good.
