Real ale / lovely beers

Although I like buying pints at Glasto, I am increasingly becoming of the opinion that by the time you've paid over £7 for a not full pint of warm, average beer (and maybe had to queue for it), you might just as well have a warm can of £1 average beer.

The Theatre Bar had a few decent ales (craft IPA I think).

Looking to bring some real ale tins but struggling with getting anything half decent 😞

Most small breweries do cans by mail order these days

I’ve got a fridge in my van so i usually take a cool bag full of cans with a couple of ice blocks in round with me in the day. I do still occasionally like to get a draught pint at a festival though

I really recommend Fuss Club - get fresh can releases in every Monday and do next day delivery 👍

I have spotted this on the map between Leftfield and the Pyramid.

I haven’t been for a couple of years so can’t remember if it has been there before or if it’s new but the draught IPA may be promising? (Not all bar descriptions say this)

Arbor

New Bristol Brewery

Left handed Giant

Lost and grounded

Moor

Bristol Beer Factory

Wiper and True

I could honestly list them all day.. But we have some exceptional brewers a mere 45mins up the road in Bristol and I am sure there are plenty south of site too.. Such a crying shame that these fantastic local suppliers cannot be utilised. It is the one element of the festival that annoys me!

Never been to Bristol (sadly i know) But ive tried beers from quite a few of these at Shambala who have a specific craft beer tent, the way it should be.

It's one of the bars managed by Avalon and will have the same as everywhere else. Sorry to disappoint.

Real ale offer is ok but could be better.  At least Otter is better than Woodforde's Wherry which was the offer some years back.    I'll be bringing plenty of cans.  I distribute them around the various lockups so there's some on hand without me lugging a heavy bag everywhere.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
