Willow Meadows

Hi All,

Our group unfortunately missed out on Worthy View this year having stayed there in 2023 and really liking it. So we have ended up in the above, Willow Meadows.

Just wondered if anyone in this lovely community has ever stayed here before?

We are a group of three families all with children ranging from 4 months old to 8 years old so travelling to and from site is a bit of a worry.. It looks like it is walkable without too much fuss, but would love to know if anyone has ever stayed here before and has any experience with the walk?

Google earth suggests that the walk is certainly longer than the walk from Worthy to the centre of the site, but also looks a little flatter and anyone who has stayed up on Worthy View will know all too well how hard that hill is at the end of a long day!

Any advice / experiences would be great.

Thanks All.

I got resales in '22 & missed out on CV ticket so we eneded up at Willow Meadows.

I managed to fracture my knee like 3 weeks before the fest (yay!) The walk from WM to gate D was quick, 15mins with a hobbling strapped up knee, then followed the path next to the vehicle track once through the gates, straight across popping out by the Coop.

Used to stay I CV West before Sticklinch was there so it was kind of the same route.

I've not been successful the last couple of years but would def consider staying there again if I ever mange to bag tickets again.

Have a blast!

That is incredibly helpful, thank you!

Looking at google earth it seems the path in is pretty much flat, is that as you recall too?

Thanks again.

We stayed at Holt Farm last year which looks quite close to Willow Meadows? It's quite a flat route 🙂

Hiya, yeah pretty flat, no major hills or even slight inclines.

The route past the coop we didn't even find until the Sat 😂 we either went down through Bushy, Silver Hayes way or across Dairy, Paints, Park Home - I really added extra hobble steps for no reason 😂  I'd checked out routes on map before arriving and that indicated it was just for vehicles so didn't even try it, but there was a fenced off walking route there the whole time!  That was a couple of years ago so obvs can't guarantee it'll still be there.

@DirtyLurker very interested in that route - once you get through Gate D where do you go?

@Gashead86 - this will be my second time in Willow Meadow, this time in my campervan.  Excellent site - small bar and breakfast bar on site - bands play on and off in a marquee at the bottom of the field. Showers were fab, and there is a big marquee with comfy seating and lots of plug sockets to charge phones etc.

I am very happily going there again.  The walk to Gate D is quick as you can cut through at the bottom of the field in the right hand corner as you look down towards the main road.

👋 hi

Very rudimentary image but I just screenshot the latest map and drew a red circle 😂

Came through Gate D, headed straight, passed all the entrance stuff,  big ass tree on like a triangle bit of pathway & the vehicle route went directly straight across, the fencing to keep the camping areas separate to the roadway had another fenced off pathway as you're looking into the festival with Gate D behind you it was to the right of the roadway.  Popped out on the right hand of the coop.

This was "22 so no idea if it's still accessible or even if the coop is in the same place!

God I love this forum! Everyone always so helpful.

Really nice to hear the path is flat. I have a herniated disc I am waiting for an op on and a 5 year old son who with the greatest intention in the world, is going to need carrying at times! So the easier the walk the better for me.

Nice to hear the facilities onsite at WM are good also. That was one thing we loved about WV last time out. Was nice being able to have a cold drink in the relative peace and quiet of the campsite before heading into the madness of the main event!
