In other Sheffield music news, it looks like the Leadmill saga is coming to a head. Judge has ruled against them and council has blocked planning to demolish the interior (stupid vindictive idea) if/when they finally get evicted. Let's hope we"re not without another key venue for any length of time whilst it all gets sorted.

Eviction date is 9th June according to The Tribune.

Can't be too much more to come, can there?

There's a Friday special guest and only 11 so far on the poster, whereas 19 for Saturday, and 13 for Sunday. Definitely a bit more for Friday and Sunday, albeit mostly smaller acts.

Yes, looking at last years line up think Saturdays music acts are fully announced.

Intrigued on the Friday 'Special Guest' and if they put them in the 2pm slot to try and get people in.  For how good the Pulp booking is there is not much in the other Friday acts to bring me in early and use and extra holiday day.  As it stands I will go straight from work.   In my head Friday is a Pulp gig and not Tramlines.

Would love Self Esteem but cant see her playing anything other than the sub slot.

If it's the afternoon slot, another option could be Richard Hawley. He's now promoting 20 years of Coles Corner. He's just announced a headline at York Museum gardens early July, which would be justification for holding back for a bit.

Our group usually miss most of the Friday travelling to Sheffield, and usually have to miss bands we really want to see,   getting set up in accommodation and then getting to the festival, so im working the morning then travelling up as theres only Pulp I really want to see. So Im like you just seeing it as a Pulp gig. Get in, few drinks in the VIP, then watch Pulp.

Ive seen Fat White Family before but think the rest of my group wouldnt know what to make of that lot !

I have tried all the acts listed so far on the Friday and there in no one I would see.  Usual I watch someone virtually all day.  Quite prepared to accept this though in order to see Pulp.

I could listen to Spritualized in the car but at the moment it looks like they are subbing and thats not good.  Hopefully another 6 or 7 acts will make me want to go in before Pulp.

Richard Hawley fits, given the Pulp connection. Allows him to pop up at the end of the night too.

Exactly this. And he and John Grant have previous for his Patsy Cline tour too

Oh Jesus, I hope not. With the exception of a couple of nostalgia acts, the Saturday is a dumpster fire. If there isn't a second announcement, I may skip Saturday and head to Clamlines ticket back in the city.

Still, Friday is a dream and Sunday has enough to bop to.

The K's particularly and Jake Bugg worth seeing on the Saturday line up.

    • Blink 182 have been announced here at Rock im Park for next year this evening so you'd think Download will follow up from Green Day and get them. Be a mad miss if they don't.   In which case I'm going with Blink, Slipknot and the 3rd could be many options. If they get Foos for the 3rd it'll be the best trio I can remember for a long time. It would absolutely rip this years as a trio to shreds and I say that as a LP big fan.
