AndyLangy
Hi All, Can’t wait to get to the festival again after 6years! Just a quick one. Our group is staying in the Campervan fields again this year so are travelling down on the Tuesday morning. Due to other circumstances me and my partner will be getting a coach down for the first time this year and arriving approx 9am Wednesday morning. Then the plan is to meet up and stay with them in the Campervan fields. Once you get off the coach can we just walk around the perimeter over to the campervan fields in E21 and meet up with them straight away? Or will we have to queue up at gate A, bag searches, get wristband etc then walk through the site and get a pass out at gate C up the hill of death to meet them?? Thanks! Thanks! in theory you can walk around the perimeter, you won't be able to go thru the site (gate-a, bag searches, etc), until the site opens on wednesday morning. I wouldn't recommend the perimeter walk as there are few pavements so from a safety aspect enter via Gate A, taking advantage of the fact you will be in the priority queue having arrived by coach. Can they take your luggage making things easier for you? Use What3words to find them once you are in the campervan fields. You mention that they are in E21 so I assume they are pitching in the Accessible Forward Camping area?
AndyLangy
Thanks for the speedy replies. Yeah the vast majority of our stuff will be taken down in the campervans the day before so we’ll be travelling light on the coach. I also didn’t realise there was a priority queue for people arriving via coach? I guess we’ll just weigh it up on the day when we arrive and see how quick the queue goes down. Just didn’t want to spend hours waiting in a queue if we could just walk 15mins round the perimeter and meet up with our group and then all go and get wristbanded up together early afternoon. Thanks again.
drunk pumpkin
You'll get a lot of challenge if you try and walk around the perimeter. It's something the security teams don't like you to do. The walkways on the outside of the fence are not for public use (as far as I'm aware) and they will challenge you all the way and direct you back to the first gate. I'd suggest travel light, go in through Gate A, enjoy the walk through the site as it's coming to life and have the guys meet you on site. I was in the camper van fields last year and entrance to the site on Wednesday morning through Gate C was taking up to 3 hours to get in. Once you're in you can sit, have a cider and chill. Just my thoughts though! Enjoy the festival
Armourman
Apologies for hijacking this thread but if half of our crowd is staying at Worthy View and other half not but they are in our car parked at WV can they enter via the WV gate? I'm guessing no but thought I'd ask!

Thanks again. It's far more than a 15min walk around the parimeter and there are areas with no public access which require lengthy detour. I'd enter through the coach queue at gate A and cut across the site. Probably work out much quicker.

Since festival goers need an accommodation booking to enter WV and get their wristbands etc, in theory it's not possible for your friends to enter via the WV gate. Its also very difficult to get to the other pedestrian access gates ( PGD nearest) from the WV car park.
