Coach Location - Taunton

MartinK

Recommended Posts

Evening, feeling thrilled securing a ticket in the resale earlier, and probably the realisation I'm going alone will set in later.

However I'm going from Taunton which is still 2 hours away from where I live in Stoke

Does anyone know the location of the coach pick up they use and what time.  Maybe I'm premature in asking but the excitement is kicking in

Thank you

Well done! Here is the name and address of the coach pick up point.

Congrats MartinK.

Taunton coach pick up is only short walk from town centre and there is a Tesco almost opposite it to pick up last minute supplies.

various departure times which you have no choice of. They send out time details mid May time.

I have always left between 6 and 8am in different years though I think there are also afternoon departures too.

whatever bus you are allocated on the way back doesn't seem to matter. I have always just pitched up at Gate A and got on the next one leaving. (No way I was going to make last years Monday 7am coach back!)

get a drink down you tonight to celebrate!

Absolutely the gin is flowing now !

Last year I did coach from Bristol and they gave me my ticket before I got on the coach - if they do it this year I'd seriously consider getting my car back on going down in car so I'd have 3 spare places

Every year I have gone from Taunton they have handed out the ticket in the car park.

i know they shouldn't and can't guarantee that they will again but I'd say the chances are pretty good but you won't get there any quicker and will only have a longer walk to the gate when you get there. Getting the coach is supposed to be 'eco' so best stick to the rules. (Ok - so the drive from Stoke to Taunton shatters the illusion of being green)

not every year I'm afraid :( i know at least 2 years where this hasn't happened although one year my brother demanded he get let off in traffic once he had the ticket and they let him with no problems .. I'm guessing he had someone else take his kit in

Taunton coach pickup ... nearest hotels about 5 -10  mins walk away are in order of closeness to drop off ..lowden house band b , acorn lodge b and b , beaufort lodge b and b , brookfield lodge b and b , and corner house hotel

parking nearest unrestricted parking with no permits required .. this does get busy within commuter hours  hope this is of help to some on here ,

So I think I've narrowed it down to a few options:

1) Drive down to a B&B in Taunton and hopefully leave car there for 6-nights even though staying for just 1.  I've offered to pay a daily parking fee for the privlidge

2) Drive down to my mate in Bristol on Tuesday, stop over there and drive early morning to a free parking place as mentioned on here.

Im just a bit conscious of leaving my car somewhere for 6 nights.  I know it's a risk, but in general what's the area like around there?

the area is fine around there , its generally residents parking around there in the evenings , its the area around the police station and is made up of lots of bungalows * disclaimer ( you shouldn't suffer any issues ) but option 1 looks like the one I would choose , especially one of the nearby ones mentioned before .. less fuss and need to move car etc , I guess this depends on your funds available and what the b and b charges for parking

Sorted Crazyfool - thanks for all your help - booked B&B for Tuesday night and for £5 a night I can keep my car there till Monday !

Just hope now it's an early morning coach - I like to be pitched up and at the Glasto sign by about 14:00ish

which b and b did you go for ? parking seems a good price better than most of the car parks around here !!

Anyone know when they dish out coach times? Appeared to be earlier last year....

I emailed SEE tickets but they just replied saying times will sent out 30-days prior to the event - hoping so much I'm on an early morning coach.  I love the Wednesday day at the festival and will be gutted if I don't get there till 4pm onwards

SeeTickets customer service page now gives you the coach times you've been allocated https://www.seetickets.com/customerservice

Need to use the booking ref from your deposit booking rather than the reference from the balance payment.

I've got 6.15am Wednesday morning out and the brutal 06.00 Monday coach back - which I will most certainly be missing!

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
