Festival site bigger this year! And what do you mean extras, go on Neil spill the beans

I just meant the extra numbers, nowt more. According to what their website says, the capacity is now 17,000. It was 15,000 previously, i believe.

caveat: it was recently pointed out to me by Scott that it says 17,000 on their website, and I presume that's a recent change.

I think the capacity was 17k officially last year. I believe it's licensed for 20k including crew & performers, but I don't think the site will be (much) different than that pic ^. The boundaries haven't changed in the last 6 years anyway

there isn't much other land to use without moving parts of the "arena" up to where the campsites are and moving those campsites up to where camper vans & car parks are currently

it's not impossible, tho Scottie picked up on the higher number after he'd stopped working for efests, when he should have done when he still was - so I suspect it being on their website is fairly new.

    • Consider that the sound quality can be better near the front bars right behind the soundbooth rather than closer to the stage, like with mbv. And of course, the front sections are full of talkers too.   The most courteous move would be to have conversations in the very back of the field.
    • I mean...I do think it all needs more regulation, but god knows how when it's all so global...but there's so much stuff on there that is messing with our little minds. But also, he has given these companies till September, and well...he'll surely be gone by then. I think social media ban for under 16s will likely happen, but I think regulating it for everyone is better. It's the not the kids we should be worried about, it's all those middle aged doom scrolling keyboard warriors like me.
    • I agree the prices are tough for locals. You can see if Porto timetable is the type that works for you and it's a terrific city. Also cheaper. https://www.primaverasound.com/es/porto/lineup-porto
    • thanks XXialac! i guess for us the most important aspect will be a festival that starts very late in the day, specially in these southern countries were it can be really hot! The combination of visiting a new city, having good lunches and enjoying a festival is a absolute must for us. Also, we like headliners but the undercard is just as important; truly enjoyed Men I trust, NewDad, Big Thief this year so from that angle it is not really a big thing if a festival is somewhat smaller.    Apparently my bad, i had 5 in my system but 0.5 (10%) increase is still huge. I am not sure how teenagers can afford these prices............
