Just wondering if any of grabbed any tents on the way out this year, that theyre planning on ebaying?

ive sadly had to retire my tent, i got a few years out of it though.

Im going to start looking for another

Buy a ticket for v festival, pick up half a dozen tents on the Monday, keep one yourself and sell the rest to recoup your money!:)

Then you have to go to V Festival though! Awful prospect.

Don't.  Colleague at new office is going to V as her first festival experience.  Each to their own and all that but., well, you know.  Bieber's playing.  And that's just the tip of a particularly shitty iceberg.

Has anyone been recently?  Everything I've seen or read about it (I went in '97 to see Prodigy) just looks like a Fisher Price My First Festival.

Yes yes I have .... I grew up right near there and spend one weekend a year back home meeting friends who won't do any other festivals. I've seen the decline first hand, but to be fair always managed to track down one or two gems during the weekend ( music wise ). Had some cracking times over the years , managed to get backstage at the main stage ( yes soulless but interesting to see what the view form the stage looks like ) .... I hang my head and say yep going again this year, Truely the last time, and going with a group of girls / ladies etc who two, there is no way they would ever go to glastonbury. We don't stay on site so can leave before the bieber arrives , but am actaully looking forward to seeing faithless and never seen Sia and I like her voice .... Mmm hardly makes a festival but I have no idea who else is playing lol .

Last thing you need to be doing is apologising for going to a festival.  Such a thing would be contrary to all that is great and good about these forums (fora?).

We'll just be silently judging you, that's all :)

Ha ha that's fine judge away.   Even I cringe at admitting going these days lol. In the 90s it was fine, and felt quite amzing that the likes of pulp and blur were playing in my local park ,,, mmm now not so much, and the parks not local any more which makes any excuses rather invalid ! But I get to see mum, get to see her house once a year ( she visits me the rest of the time ) and make sure she's ok in her home surroundings !

The line up is pretty piss poor to be honest and apart from the Lightning Seeds, Corrinne Bailey Rae and Faithless, there is nothing that would really grab me. That said, I don't really subscribe to festival snobbery, at the end of the day you usually go for the music and if Justin Bieber is your thing then you go where he is playing. To be honest though the bookers do seem to have become particularly lazy. Either that or the demographic has changed there too...

And let's face it, if people want to go to V instead of Glastonbury then there's more of a chance I can avoid the ticket day disasters I have had for the last 3 years running in October!

Shaun.

Took 60 plus years old Mother a few years back as she wanted to try out a festival. The line up of Chic, Killers and Paul Heaton caught her eye so V it was.

We only did a day ticket and thank the Lord for that. Never experienced people squatting down for a pee right next to where we were eating (near a food stall not the loos). I'm more than fine with going a bit feral for a few days but this was beyond what I had expected.

Mothers opinion? Music was great but the crowd were 80% w**kers.  All being well (ticket Gods please) she's coming to Glasto next year.

Ahh sorry, I had missed the fact you were in Belfast. Probably just better to buy a tent then. How big you looking for? There's some pretty decent tents on Decathalon for not too much money.

I have just bought the outwell Cortes 6. I think it is a small 6, only one bedroom but same size porch. Great size for 2 and only 7.something Kilos. Only 2000HH but I will proof mine before I go. Was £75 from go outdoors

If you live local to Southampton you can have mine if you collect. 5 man missing a compartment ground sheet as it was pointless as all it wanted to do was house a swimming pool.
