The would be a great addition, ive booked a ticket for the saturday at victorious festival at the end of august so i can see them (and the manics)

I already have enough bands on the first poster to keep me busy for the whole weekend!  So in a way I don't want any more favourites added as it will make it even harder to choose who to see.  But having said that, maybe the Mystery Jets and the Proclaimers.  The band I was hoping for on the poster who didn't appear was Tears for Fears, but I can't see them being there now.

Oh I so want to see Tears for Fears but I think they are in America in June :-(

I was mad on them as a teenager, and they were the first gig I begged my parents to go to at 14 years old in Southend, they deemed me too young and said no. I ended up seeing King at Hammersmith as my first gig 6 months later for my 15th birthday present- where was the logic in 6 months lol

As a result still never seen them and would really love to

Oh no, I didn't know they were in America!  Oh well, at least I can stop hoping now and accept it won't happen.  I've never seen them either, so it would have been great...

Lots of my early gigs were at the Hammersmith Odeon and I still have fond memories of the place.  I remember King, but never saw them live.

I thought their last US gig before  a break was 20th June then back to the states around 8th July - or have more dates been announced?

    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
    • Dug into Milkweed some more and this was a brilliant suggestion. Thank you 🙂   This will come as no surprise, but I have been told that there are some band substitutions to come.
    • Yeah, I think it's important to differentiate between a stage that's just a platform for the artist to walk on (which can be assembled fairly quickly and without too much difficulty), and the custom staging that you get in big productions where there's a whole world underneath.   Using the Eras tour as an example the stage extending out into the stadium field has all sorts - lifts that go up or down - down most importantly as this allows performers to enter or to leave the stage as needed. There's passageways to get from one part of the stage to another. There's what are effectively dressing rooms set aside for costume changes. There's spare instruments (and techs to look after them) so if something goes wrong above they can be swapped out in the space of seconds. There's even a track and dolly system running the full length of the stage so that Taylor can be moved from one end to the other faster than she'd be able to walk.   I don't know the specifics of the Madonna tour to the same degree but my understanding is that a lot of the same techniques are used.
