Getting into the correct gate

Don't take the M4. What the chap said about the red route via wells isnt a bad idea. Generally I advise people avoid that route because the traffic can get very bad when you get to Shepton Mallet, but I'm not sure its so bad these days now so many people travel in Tuesday night. But don't try to go from wells direct to the festival, there is a road but I gather it was closed last year. But its easy to get to Glastonbury town via wells.

here is the link to the 2014 traffic management plan....needs to be read in conjunction with Google Maps but it's pretty simple when you get stuck in.

seems a lot of folks are interested in the Wells - Glastonbury road and whether the route through North Wootton off that road into West car parks will be open...I'll have a read later and post what I figure out.

All i would say is, look at the map on the glastonbury website. look what colour car park you want to get in and follow that colour circle once you hit the AA event signs. Obviously still try and get to the correct side of the site first.

Edit, just looked at the map. looks like it might be blue route for gate c and brown route for gate b. the car park colours may mean nothing....

I heard last year you can't go via North Wootton now whilst the festival is entering/exiting. However, I didn't try it myself. Glasto-worker posted a list of road closures somewhere.

I gather the route to West Pennard is not blocked (but the road closures to change) But any way over Pennard Hill via Pylle or Sticklynch is.
