park "secret" gigs

I loved the secret gigs, including FF and Radiohalf. The year when the two secret gigs were Radiohead and Pulp was a bit silly though. If they're going to play they should go to Pyramid - more people see their favourite bands and less chaotic up at the Park.

The likes of The National would make sense and be fun though.

Nope as most people have said they have been stopped due to health and safety, the closest you may get is DJ sets such as Fatboy Slim then Chase and Status on Arcadia last year, only annouced on the day...

Biffy Did a set in 2010

Didn't Franz Ferdinand hand out flyers for their own secret set in 08 as well as the Last Shadow Puppets

That 2010 Thom Yorke and Johnny greenwood set was the pinnacle of the whole secret gig thing for me. Previous years were reasonable size bands like franz and klaxons but nothing remarkable. Then we turn up and get pyramid song, karma police and street spirit.

Ridiculously special and I just don't see it ever being beaten- sounds like 2011 was crazy for pulp but many there were too far away. My biggest gig regret not going still though.

It's hard to do anything secret on one of the programmed stages at Glastonbury because the timings are all published - so if a slot is labelled with 'TBA', or a slot looks suspiciously long, or a stage closes unusually early (see Park Stage, Sunday, 2013!), a lot of assumptions start being made about something secret happening.

(There was something pretty funny about 2,000 people watching the Park crew start breaking the setup down last year though)
