Ticket balances payment method

I am going to be paying off my ticket balances tomorrow, along with a couple of friends who I booked at the same time as I paid the deposits. I know that when the deposit was paid it had to be from a debit card and presume it will be the same for the balance. I have put aside the money for my two tickets, but my friends have asked if it can be paid by credit card as they do not have it in their bank at the moment. So does anyone on here know if credit cards are accepted for the balance?

Payment by card for UK sales (both online and by telephone) will be by the following debit cards only - Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Switch/Maestro Domestic and Solo. Credit cards will not be accepted for UK sales. For the purpose of ticket sales the UK includes Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
Debit card sales will be processed immediately in most cases and certainly within five working days of the sale being confirmed.

This guy seemed to be able to pay with CC last year

I'd imagine they'd prefer if people didn't use credit (as, if it's fraudulent, it's the shop rather than the bank or credit card company that loses out).

But if people do have the funds, then i guess they don't care and probably don't have a way of distinguishing debit from credit anyway.

Just another one of glasto's unofficial exceptions to the rules I guess.

Also does anyone know if the money should leave your account straight away as I paid yesterday and received confirmation email but the money hasn't left my account yet. Is this normal, or should I phone See to check payment has gone through?

Read the email confirmation, it tells you in the email about them taking money.

Does anyone know if any tickets going back in the pot need to be manually cancelled or will you get a refund after the payment window has closed? I've paid for my ticket but the other deposit I put on my card isn't needed now and I'm just wondering if I need to actually cancel it myself or if it'll happen automatically.

Yes, it's normal - for me anyway. Some people's funds seem to clear straight away, but for me it takes 48 hours or so to show up. I've called my bank most years the day following payment to check and they say the same thing to me every time "yes, it's there in the queue, it'll probably show up in your statement tomorrow". Don't worry anyway, if payment hadn't gone through See will contact you (that happened to me too one year due to a bank system issue rather than lack of funds - all sorted after heart failure!).

I tried ringing earlier but just ending up in a loop that ultimately directs you to being told that all the FAQ's are on the SeeTickets web site before disconnecting you, which isn't that helpful when ticket sales for Glastonbury are handled differently than their normal ticket sales.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
