Camping luxuries

I got some new and really good ones off Amazon. I find them to be much better than the Boots ones generally as I use them in everyday life and have been sleeping much better since using them. The noise at Glasto was just too much though. I don't remember The Park being that loud until 6am!

Where is Baileys?

Get the most expensive air bed you can afford, then a mattress protector, a normal fitted sheet and a duvet. In our big tent we have enough room to inflate some of those triangular blocks you can get for leaning against, and use them as a headboard. Pillows and if its chilly another blanket under the sheet and its a guaranteed decent sleep.

Other camping luxuries are a good old fashioned gas lamp and a cofee percolator...oh and an extension lead either from the car battery or a hook-up point for your coolbox/stereo/phone charger etc etc.

Oh and Travel Johns :-)

Disposable hand warmers (not those shite reusable ones that reach a tepid temperature at best) are amazing. Crunch them before you go to sleep and then put at the bottom your sleeping bag = no more early morning shivering!!!

Interesting. I have an air bed but I might give the pillow/sleeping bag as a duvet thing a go. Going camping in a couple of weeks so will test it out. Doesn't it get cold not being zipped into the sleeping bag though?

I don't mind lack of sleep if it's from partying but the noise levels this Glastonbury meant I averaged about 2 a night, even with airplugs. Seriously thinking about changing where I camp to a quieter area. Anyone got any suggestions? I was so tired on the Sunday that I was almost hallucinating.

Haha, this is exactly me. Camped opposite Beat Hotel and got not a wink. Like yourself I averaged about 2 hours a night, but my hallucinations started Monday morning, en route to and in the car! Not the best time to have them. Luckily I only had to get to Bath for a stop-over, I didn't have to drive all the way up North!

One of my issues with sleeping is having my legs restricted in sleeping bag. Therefore a duvet would be miles better. Harder to pack though.
