We arrived on the Tuesday,about 11pm,no queues and not many people there.We asked security if the bar was open and they said no but me and my mate got a bit bored as soon as we got to the tent,it felt like a ghost town so we had a wander to see the view and low and behold the bar was open and it was nice in there,good soul and funk playing and a really good bar with different ales and good proper cider at 6.5% and then they got the fire going so we all sat round that till 3am when the bar closed,it was really nice got chatting to loads of different people and a few spliffs were passed round.

We pretty much got back to the tent hammerd,it was a great start to the festival.

The view of the festival was outstanding,but a little jealous as on the tuesday night,we good hear all the stall holders etc partying,lots of cheers and whooping,they were having a good time but so did we,we just wanted to get in there but of course we couldn't.

The showers were good and hot and no queues,not for the mens anyway but then I didn't go t'll the afternoon.

Toilets,nice for the first couple of days but come the Friday there were queues as a lot more people had arrived and some where clogged or even closed completely so toilets not so good.

And now to the hill,pretty grim but doable,it was a slog but a break at the stone circle before the last haul is recommended and if your back before the bar shuts you can have a nice pint and recouperate on the sofas.

All in all I would recommend it,very chilled and friendly and we had a bell tent which was very spacious for four and we got 8 hours sleep in a night rather then the usual 3 to 4 so I feel quite refreshed rather than spaced.

All in all good for the money.

THought it was excellent. Not one delay getting in on Wednesday around noon on the roads or the site. Helpful staff, showers were a joy and a nice atmosphere.

Toilets were a bit grim, especially in morning but that's the only thing can really fault.

The hill at night was murder, especially Sunday as knackered by that point but in all was excellent and would definitely do it again

Was against it to begin with, but would definitely do again.

Pros:

• The scout tents were massive - bigger than my old 4 man and looked cool, could easily stand up inside. Well spaced too
• Had it's own bar with lower prices
• Great showers with minimal queues at most times
• Toilets clean if you picked your moment
• Staggering distance to the car
• Good security
• Opened on Tuesday
• No traffic getting in

Cons

• Where was the campfire?
• No water in the toilet sinks
• Very few water refill points

Toilets were definitely an issue - not enough and not emptied regularly enough. Generally the clientele meant they were cleaner than the rest of the site though.

The place definitely needed some trough type sinks - the ones in the loos meant the loo queues were worse and didn't always have running water anyway.

Would have loved the campfire too

The hill is hard but do-able. Definitely slept better (although our decision to take air beds helped here too) so generally enjoyed the festival more. Nice to have a shower, my first ever in 8 festivals!

The ease of getting in and out is the deal-maker though. So damn easy, nice to be close enough to the car to make multiple trips. I also suspect I may not be able to get the whole weekend off work next year so I think we will be doing WV again.

What sort of prices is it? I'm at the point I could be converted to this more sedate affair.

It starts at £200 for a two person dome tent and then upwards to bell tents and yurts (not sure how much but assume approx £100 per person at least).

Pros:

Journey to the car park is short - I was as far away from it as you can get and it took me 5 minutes to reach my car.

Showers were good though I was amazed how early people were getting up for them (me included but I can never lie in, even after three or four hours sleep)

It was great not having to take, put up or take down a tent and there was a lot more space around the tents than on site.

Being on the south side of the site was a nice change - I'm usually at the other end.

Cons:

There were nowhere near enough toilets for the number of people and they were pretty hideous at times - prefer the long drops.

Security was tight to the point of being a bit arsey at times - I know they've got a job to do and the site's a bit vulnerable being outside the fence but there was a lot of self-importance on display

It IS a bit of a climb - I thought this had been exaggerated before I got there. It was fine for me but I'm quite fit, but wouldn't recommend it for anyone who struggles with climbing up steep tracks.

You can't just pop back to your tent as it's quite a walk from most of the main stages - as a consequence I probably carried more stuff around with me than usual and only went back once during the day if that.

Overall I'd recommend it though and would probably book there again.

I will definitely do it again, had a scout tent which was great, if you left it a bit later than the morning rush there was no queues for the Showers.

Also found the toilets near the bar area much better than up the top and never had a problem at all, quiet at night! and of course amazing views over Glasto while having a well-earned Large Breakfast Bap

However, they wasn’t geared up for people travelling by public transport as had about a 3 HR wait at the Bus Station for the Shuttle on arrival, so was a long wait in that heat (especially being prone to sunburn), ended with AA vans taking bags to squeeze more people in. I’m sure this will be better next year (and EE did reply to my tweet about it so fair play). The chap in charge said “he didn’t expect this many people” – 2 mini bus with about 12 seats in each was doing the runs, with a few hundred in the queue

Also the girl took us to the wrong tent in which we left all our stuff, wasn’t until we met friends later who had the same tent that we realised, but was moved straight away, and the shuttle back could start earlier 8am first shuttle, my coach left at 7:30, so a lovely Monday morning stroll at 6-15am with all the stuff to catch it L

But reckon these problems will be ironed out for next year.. roll on 2014

Thought it was fantastic. Had a 6 person dome tent.

Came Thursday am. Easy run into the car park and 5 min walk to the tent.

Air bed blown up for me and a puncture repair kit produced when we realised it had a hole and we'd left our at home!

Showers were great. Most I queued was 10 minutes.

Toilets were not great and in the morning I walked to the car park ones to avoid the queue.

Would use it again.

Not sure how they didn't expect so many people for the shuttle buses as they had emailed us all and asked us to tell them how and when we were arriving.

I was in two minds as to add to this thread as I'm worried that securing a spot at Worthy Farm will become increasingly difficult next year. However, let's just say I was very impressed. First time at any festival where I have done the 'off site' thing and it has pretty much changed my festival going for ever - can't see me lugging gear ever again (except for maybe the smaller fests'), easy entry, nice neighbours, quality tent and (don't knock me for this) I showered everyday, another first and what a revelation it makes you feel great after a long day/night!!! Toilets were only ok but am sure they will improve this in future years.

I certainly feel I've earned my Glasto stripes over the years and never thought I'd say it but can't see me back camping on site again anytime soon, I guess this is a mixture of my advancing age (yes I know poor excuse) and the fact I treat the fest' as a holiday and it totally removed the arrival stress.

However I would be sad to see this type of thing increase, as I love the fest' for what it is and would hate for it to become too easy, too sophisticated etc. Yes I am taking advantage of it because it's there, I can afford it and I still love the festival but if it wasn't perhaps I would now be calling a misty-eyed end to my Glasto days and perhaps this should be the way it ought to be, freeing up space for the youngsters and those that haven't been before and perhaps with it preserving a bit of what has made Glastonbury great - the fact that it was a great leveller with no reserved or VIP areas for those willing to splash the cash to make life easier.

Oh the dilemma! (See you in 2014 )

We stayed there too. Just had a regular 2 man tent but would be tempted by one of the scout tents or cloud tents (cute!) We stayed at Tangerine Fields in 2011 but thought we would given this a go - I thought it was better. To be blunt, we are mid-40s and, whilst not killjoys, we don't want massive groups of 21 year olds doing whatever outside their tents until 4am and keeping us awake with their shrieking (happened one year). We go to Glasto for the music rather than partying till dawn so we do want more than 2 hours' kip each night. It is nice not to be in the bunfight for a space and the neat little rows of tents appeal to me ;-)

Echo all the comments that have been made - decent showers with fast moving queues, good bar, lovely view from the bar area, 5 mins tops to the car, arrived (Weds 8pm) and left (Mon 1am) in no other traffic. Only downside did appear to be the toilets - queues in the morning were far longer than for the showers - crazy!! It was quiet at night and we got decent sleep as a result (could hear the Arcadia burners going as if they were in the next field though!)

Would definitely go again. We had lovely neighbours from Texas who were on their honeymoon and we chatted to them for ages each morning, as a result of which we are seriously considering heading to Coachella or Austin City Limits!!

I hindsight as much as I enjoyed WV I do feel the Festival went a lot quicker this time,I can only put this down to having a lot more sleep,which was good of course but also the extra time to to get ready before we left each morning/afternoon took forever.Normally in the main fest I would just get up and go and go back when I wanted ,you cant do this at WV for obvious reasons so I dunno.

I didn't cope with that hill too well either,we were right at the back next to the carpark

Think I'm gonna do the campervan fields next year but my days of slumming it in on sight camping are definitely over.

I personally enjoyed the walk back to the tent, we only tended to go back once a day max - never really queued in or out at the gate. Plus you get to walk through the green/cabaret/circus fields in and out. 2011 we camped other side of the dairy farm and had to walk just as far, through loads of tightly packed tents and their guy ropes - I know what I prefer. In fact I don't think I realised how annoying traversing through the campsites was until I took an ill advised shortcut through pennards this year. Never again.

So all the Joys of a pre erected tent without the hill unless wanting a shower. I do not believe I will have such luxury again..... oh and the tent had a mini kitchen and beds.

I did Tangerine Fields in 2011 and Worthy View in 2013.

Getting in and out of Worthy View was way better.

The Worthy View hill is hard work compared to Tangerine Fields.

The toilets at Worthy View were AWFUL! Massive queues for fewer and fewer toilets as more and more got roped off over the weekend. The sinks quickly ran out of water. It is incredible they had so few toilets for so many people and that the company looking after them was so incompetent. Much preferred the toilets at Tangerine Fields.

It was quieter at Worthy View so got a better night's sleep.

Overall I thought Tangerine Fields was better.

Pros - distance from car (a couple of mins)

Security

Hot showers (queued 20-60 mins depending on time)

Proper toilets/sinks - decent/no queues

Space between tents (despite dreaded gazebos)

Fab view (opposite from WV)

Cons - 20 min walk to main site (had to carry everything for the day really)

Can anyone who has done both compare the walks to site please? I don't mind walking but have some difficulty with steep hills due to an ankle injury
