Friday at V Fest

What do most people do on the friday when they get there, through the day time and then when it starts to get dark. I heard theres films but my girlfriend just asked what will we be doing? Sorry if theres an old thread of this

putting up a tent is a fairly common thing to do

that would take less than 20 mins, and you wouldnt want to do that at night

Whenever I go camping I'm so tired by the time I've got our tent up I usually just sleep in it for about a prolonged period of time. I almost missed the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics last year!

Still missed the last hour because we had a curfew of midnight and the damn thing didn't finish til 1am, was tres annoying

V always let's itself down with the after hours entertainment, do they still have the indie disco Friday evening(staffs).

What films have been shown in the past years? Are they like films Glastonbury has where they are ones in cinemas currently or are they old dvds

Usually get to Chelmsford for 9:30am, set up by 10:30 and drink all day!

At around 7pm we go out of the campsite where the Carling or Strongbow Tent is and also where the fun fair ground rides are, these also extend into the V Arena where there are lots of rides and food/drink.

In the Arena tent they have music playing which has been really good in previous years...can't remember much of the music but they played bands such as Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys last year!

Films are usually shown at 11pm and 1am (Films from previous years include: Cool Runnings, School of Rock, Madagascar) Films are shown at those times on Friday and Saturday night.

And that is pretty much it!

Yeah like someone said earlier the entertainment is pretty limited! I go to V in a large group so that's good. I haven't myself watched a film at V, just saw the beginning of one 2 years ago. But yes Cool Runnings is amazing!

They say online gates open at around midday but we always get in by 9:30

Around 1 I think, coach sets off from portsmouth at just gone 9, so 3 or so hours to get there is realistic I would have thought

Yeah we fearing that but we have no other way to get there any earlier :/ Up until last night I thought we had red camping tickets but my girlfriend said we had yellow so I tried proving we had red...and I was wrong :'( But there will be people in a similar situation, as long as there is room for us to set two tents up next to each other we are okay.

Is it set pitches for each tent or is it just fit into any space you can

Thanks, I just wondered as my mums going camping at some point soon and there are apparently set pitches for each tent or something

From pictures it looks really cramped and all crammed in. Would V ever have room to expand abit, maybe have more stages and more camping area

Usually you put your tent in a wide open space, then when you wake up the next morning there's about 5 just in your doorway lol
