Tangerine Fields - experiences ?

Hi All,

I've done TF 2011 and the Praxis Site in 2009 Myhab in 2010 (which is Worthy View now)

We can never arrive until late wednesday or early Thursday and there was never anywhere left to camp on the main site that wasn't horrible!

Out of the 3 i'd say the TF site is the best i've used.

Facilities are good and the carpark is nice and close.

The showers become crazy on all the sites so we always found it best to not worry about them and pick random times to use them.

Avoid them between 8am and 11am (this gets even earlier as the festival goes on!)

Also they get busy before people head back out around 5pm-6pm.

The same goes for the catering! My only complaint was needing to be in the same queue for just a coffee as all the breakfast queue.

Just meant that we stayed caffeine free until we got on site.

You will have more of a chance to get searched by staying off site.

As long as you are aware of this and sensible then its not a problem.

My friend was stopped with some ready prepared herbal roll ups and was given the opportunity to hand them in and then go onto site.

Did this and heard nothing else about it.

Just be sensible!

This year we are using Festival Canvas as i like to move about.

Enjoy!

Depends when you get to it I would guess. At 8am on Wednesday all of the gates will be very busy. If in Tangerine Fields I would imagine its best to wait until Weds afternoon before trying to get through the gate.

Previous I've only ever used gates A and D.

I'm in Tangerine Fields this year for the first time, looking forward to not having the big long walk with all the gear, and hopefully a bit less hassle all round! I dont think ive ever had my pockets etc searched going into gate A or gate D in the past? Although had bags checked for glass, is this the sort of search that people are talking about at gate B?

Hi All,

A friend of mine just noted that the car park pass says that the gate opening times for Wednesday to Saturday are

8am to 12 noon. Assuming this is a typo.

Can someone who has stayed before confirm that they were able to arrive later than this in a car?

    • Saw David Gray 8 times between 2000 and 2025 (including one solo acoustic performance in Wexford, IE, 2017) and he always delivered. I enjoyed every show, never felt bland or let down an iota. To each their own. Yeah, it’s just that he’s not your cup of tea I’m afraid.   Agree that David is a bad dancer though lol.
    • Its massively bonkers the cost now amd it means missing out on some gigs but buying into only promotes it. Im more annoyed at gigs that are cheap that I have to resist as I'm far too tired after work.
    • Yeah I mean first time seeing them sure, I was the same in 2010. Their arena tour got a bit boring, it was like just get on with it. Feeder being in a tent was silly really, there is a difference between being around 4th down on main stage snd then moving that crowd into a tent.
