There are bands at titp that would never play v, that's why I think it's a mix of both of them.

Bands like who, My Bloody Valentine? More of a R&L band but I wouldnt see them anyway. Most people that would play V would also play T, and I think I would see acts that would do V but maybe arent because of being at R&L like Bastille and Imagine Dragons, plus my type of acts like Guetta and Mumfords

So people think they could headline but John thinks they wouldnt? To me that doesnt point to Mumfords as I would have thought he would have wanted them to headline

I dont think Mumfords would be surreal

A country band maybe, but after all them clues I think it points towards an older band, with the surreal bit, like people wouldnt expect IoW to get them

no none of them are mumford, they are hints to other bands that might be at IOW next year for various reasons

mainly mbv and trash talk

I would doubt british sea power and editors too, they're much more appreciated by the r&l crowd

If you see them or not isn't the point though, is it?

The point is there are certain bands that wouldn't play v like this year my bloody valentine, kraftwerk, yeah yeah yeahs, foals and daughter and from the last few years nick cave, grinder men and rage against the machine.

Like I said certain acts wouldn't play v, not many as the guitar bands play both. Alas your into your pop and they wouldn't play reading ...god forbid!!!

V often repeat headers. I see this one happening.

Perhaps they need to go away for a couple(20) of years to freshen up, as there hard rock calling tickets don't seem to be selling well.

Coldplay for me, no other reason than I want to.

I think Foals would play V, they gained a lot of popularity with Holy Fire, still think Antidotes was their best album though. Probably always will be.

If I inbox you, you can at least tell me whether you think I'm close or I'm not?

I'll tell you if you're hot or cold :P

I still think V next year will be Mumfords and Timblerake, Not Kasabian.

Simply because Kasabian really want to do glastonbury, and I think they may not do another festival appearance until they do.

They might have a long wait then...

Do you actually know the bands or just what you think they may well be?

I don't get that whole, one of the points is two acts either?

yeah he told me because we were both still awake at 4am ha, yeah I think the first one kind of links in with the second one. The two others are completely separate though.

so which two pointers are linking together? cause without that it's slightly pointless to work out

Kasabian are not headlining Glastonbury next year. So they will certainly have to wait till

At least 2015.

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
